Just have to say again how grateful I am to have crossed paths with Read from Peony + Pine in Golden Valley (7986 Hwy 522) for everything she juggles to help deliver our injured American kestrel to her new bird rescue in Grimsby.
There were so many curve balls thrown at her in the last 24 hrs but she was absolutely amazing and high spirited❤️

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to everyone that had suggestions on what we could do to help our little American kestrel!
A very special shout out to Kara Read from Peony + Pine in Golden Valley for driving her tomorrow morning to Washago and connecting up with Critter Cabs that will complete her journey to Grimsby Open Sky Raptor Foundation.
I have met some truly amazing people these last couple of days and so happy that our little bird will get the attention she needs after her ordeal❤️

Update: Rogers outage has messed up our transport plans! Fingers crossed we can get something coordinated Saturday/Sunday!

Our little recovering kestrel seems to be doing pretty good. Hopefully get her to a rescue down south tomorrow🤞In the meantime she’s enjoying some delicious raw chicken🤢

Well that didn’t go as planned! Rogers outage has caused a one day (or more) delay in our plans. Unable to contact critter cab drivers and gas issues due to lack of interac. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes well

Update:
We have been able to coordinate a drive south from roughly Huntsville to Grimsby tomorrow (Friday July 8th) but looking to see if anyone in the area can help out with the stretch from Port Loring to Huntsville area.

Hoping this little one makes it.
Found her in a driveway in the way to work this morning and thought she may have broken her wing. Found out she is an American kestrel and her injuries are consistent with being electrocuted. My daughter and hubby took her home to try and find someone to help rehabilitate her. Open Sky Raptor Rescue is trying to work out how we can get her to them (Grimsby, Ont) but in the meantime has given us great advice on how to assist her with her injuries (the photos we sent indicate that she was electrocuted) and what to feed her. Fingers crossed she has a decent recovery🤞

Missing dog east of Grundy Lake, hwy 522

This is Mirabear, aka Bear. She went missing mid day on July 2 while on a hike about 3 km from home.

She may have been spotted near the lane to her home on Highway 522, east of Grundy Lake the evening of July 2. I am still in the process of following up with the person who reported possibly seeing her. If it was in fact her, it is likely that someone has picked her up.

She is microchipped and could easily be returned as long as the person having her takes her in to be scanned.

She is my heart and she is desperately missed. I watched her being born and she has spent every moment with me since she was 7 wks old. Please help me find her!

A reward is being offered for her safe return.
