Matthews Little Portage Camp is a Family owned & operated Tourist Camp.since 1936
We have been afactionaty refered to as a "5 star Rustic camp" with 5 star rustic staff
Our cottages are not fancy thus the "Rustic" discripion .but meet the aproval & comfort of our guests. We have enjoyed the company of our 5 generations of guests year aftr year

Good news for me, bad news for anyone looking for cottage # 4 as a cottage to rent on June 27 to July 4
Within minutes,of my post, a phone call from one of our favorite guests, reserved it for their second week @ MLPC

Day 28 of incubation all finished
That has been the longest incubation time on our 45 years of the hatchery
It has been an endurance test
All is well that ends well.
"Well" is an understatement.
An Excellent ending would be a much better description of the 28 days of incation
All that's left to do is the clean up and disinfection of all our equipment.
A final thank you on behalf of the hatchery group for everyone's help.

I might add all 40 fish were "catch & release" except for 4 smaller ones under the legal slot size

Day 28
Back to the pickerel eggs
Fry started hatching.
All hands on deck for delivery inspite of the "Terrable"South wind
The wind from the south was as bad as I can remember. in my 83 years living on the lake
It tore one of my docks loose from the pier.
That caused quite a commotion during the fry delivery
Today is day 28.
There are still more eggs to hatch
The drop in temp pretty much stopped incubation as we speak.
Maybe if the temp goes up ?
The eggs will continue to hatch today.
If not ?
Tomorrow for sure.
I have lots of pictures to show you, but I need help doing it.
