Some places don’t ask anything of you.

No schedule. No rush. No expectations.

Just the sound of the water, the smell of the ocean air, and a little space to breathe again.

At Alder Bay, the days unfold the way they’re meant to.
Coffee tastes better. Walks last longer. Sunsets feel like something you actually stop for.

And whether it’s a calm, glassy morning or a wild coastal evening… there’s something grounding about being here.

Maybe that’s the real reason people keep coming back.

Not for the amenities.
Not for the itinerary.

Just for how it feels. Plan your visit today.

At Alder Bay, you’re not woken by an alarm… but by birdsong.

As the season shifts, the mornings come alive again. Calls echo from the shoreline to the forest, changing a little each day as spring settles in.

North Vancouver Island is a bird watcher’s paradise, and there’s even a dedicated birding trail to help you discover it all: https://bcbirdtrail.ca/about-birds/

But here, you don’t have to go far. Step outside, pause, and listen.

Spring doesn’t just arrive at Alder Bay.
It wakes you gently.

The weather at Alder Bay has been putting on quite a show lately. One minute it is raining, the next we see snow on the hills, and just when you think the day has settled in, the sun breaks through for a few bright minutes over the water.

That is life on the North Island this time of year. Unpredictable, a little wild, and always beautiful.

Whether you are watching the clouds roll across the inlet or catching those brief bursts of sunshine over Cormorant Island, every day brings a different view.

Spring is slowly making its way here. 🌦️

If you are thinking about a getaway this season, Alder Bay is a pretty special place to experience it all.

The Alder Bay team is working with the awesome crew at KNL Metalworks to replace our marina access ramp with a new wider and longer one! While the boat launch is available for small boat launches, the dock itself will be unavailable for the next 2 weeks. We will update here when the dock is available for use again. Thanks to our guests for your patience and understanding!
