🔥 FIRE BAN ALERT:

The BC Wildfire Service has announced that​starting Thursday, May 7 at 12:00 PM, a full open burning ban is in effect for the entire Coastal Fire Centre region. 🚫🌲

​Due to unseasonably hot, dry weather and high fire danger, the following are prohibited:

✅ No campfires

✅ No backyard burning

✅ No category 2 or 3 open fires

​Let’s keep our forests and communities safe this season. Please stay informed, be responsible, and double-check the latest information about fire bans before heading out.

I’ve had a lot of questions lately about when the full Juan de Fuca Trail will be back open after the infrastructure damage from the past few winters. 🌲

​The BC Government just shared an update: the full trail is slated to reopen this summer, with the official date being announced in mid-May.

​I’m keeping a close eye on the official BC Parks bulletins. If you’re planning your trip to the coast, I’ll be posting the update here as soon as it drops so you can finalize your plans.
