📚✨ Storytelling by the Cove Continues! ✨📚
Join us on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Mistaken Point Interpretation Centre in Portugal Cove South for another unforgettable evening with local storyteller Riley Pennell. One of his tales A Crossing Inexplicable was featured in the book Tales I was Told.

🌀 This week’s lineup includes:
🔹 Port Arbitration, 1680 – how early Newfoundlanders resolved crimes and disputes.
🔹 Captain Roberts Stops In, 1720 – the tale of Black Bart the pirate and his attack on Trepassey.
🔹 Maundy Thursday Storm, 1923 – a gripping true story of survival in a brutal snowstorm.

🎟 Free admission – donations are welcome and sincerely appreciated.

Introducing a brand new heritage organization, Hartery's Homestead, in Portugal Cove South! Come on in to Hartery’s Homestead on Saturday, August 2nd from 10 am - 4 pm for their Open House.
Hartery’s Homestead is a recently restored, 170 year old historic home that highlights the history of Portugal Cove South. You’ll see old photos, artifacts and more.
We would love to see you there for a cup of tea, something sweet and a chat about old times; nothing too grand, just simple Newfoundland hospitality. Admission is free but they kindly welcome any donations. Bring along your stories and memories and we’ll make a day of it!

CAPE RACE HERITAGE DAYS 2024!
Join us on Friday August 2, 2024 at 7PM in Mistaken Point Interpretation Centre!

Brandon Ward, an amateur genealogist, historian with a deep knowledge of local family history, and just a wonderful human being, will open CAPE RACE HERITAGE DAYS 2024 with an amazing lecture!

Brandon studies, researches, preserves local history and brings it to the people! This deserves great attention and respect!

P.s. Admission to the Presentation is free, but donations would be greatly appreciated!
