I have been asked to pass this on. Thank you

IN APPRECIATION:

We have been at Little Bear for the entire month of August but had to head home before this weekend. Our family has owned a cabin at this lake since the 70’s.

I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation to some of the young people I talked with who have been enjoying their personal watercrafts.

We had a great conversation about how to collaborate together to consider all of the needs and interests of our community. The interests of the lakefront cabin owners, the elderly, and those who come to the north to enjoy the peace and tranquility that this beautiful lake has to offer.

But also to consider the next generation of youth and others who want to experience the thrill and fun of riding personal watercrafts on these amazing waters.

The boys I spoke with were super respectful. I don’t know who they were but kudos to you parents for raising such nice kids.

It seems that we all agreed that because personal watercrafts are much louder than regular boats and because sounds carries so loudly (even from the middle or across the lake where there are cabins) that the best place to enjoy their machines while keeping the peace with lake front cabin owners was to drive them closer to the narrows on the other side of the lake where there were no cabins.

I can honestly say that these boys were awesome! They seemed to continue to enjoy their machines but because they now were staying closer to the narrows it made such an incredible difference regarding noise.
I want to say a huge Thank-you to these young people for being so considerate.

I hope the word will be spread to others with these machines that as a community we can certainly collaborate together to find middle ground of both peace and fun!

Our kids and grandkids also love personal watercrafts and I suspect they will be bringing up some machines next year. But we will certainly follow the lead of these young people who have chosen to be so considerate to drive near the narrows instead of along the lake where there are cabins.

Thanks once again. I so appreciate this community that has so wonderfully pulled together to make this a special place for all generations! ❤️
