Just over a week since we closed for the season and I am finally starting to exhale.

The campground is quiet. The trees are glowing. The sun is warm, and there is nowhere I need to be.

I am taking these slow walks with the dogs and Kitty Kat, letting myself wander, breathe, and simply take it all in.

After months of being pulled in a hundred different directions, there is something pretty special about finding my way back to stillness.

This place is beautiful all year, but there is something about fall here.

So for now, I am soaking it in.
Breathing a little deeper.
Moving a little slower.
And remembering how lucky I am to call this place home.

My hope is that you too can find moments to find your way back to stillness. 🧡

And just like that… our 2026 season has come to an end. ❤️

Today, we officially close the gates at Salmon Valley Campground for another year.

As we look back on this season, there is one thing we feel more than anything else: gratitude.

Thank you.

Thank you to every family who came and made memories around a campfire.
To the friends who returned year after year.
To the first-time campers who discovered our little piece of the river.
To the folks who stopped by the Treat Shack for a coffee, a cinnamon bun, an ice cream or simply a little visit.
To our local community, our seasonal campers, our travelling guests, and everyone who supported us, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, or simply cheered us on.

We truly cannot thank you enough.

One of the greatest gifts of hosting is getting to watch people experience it.

We see the kids floating down to the river.
The campfires glowing in the evening.
The laughter around picnic tables.
The quiet mornings with a coffee in hand.
The friendships being made.
The families slowing down long enough to simply be together.

And every year, we are reminded that this place is about so much more than camping.

It’s about connection, community, slowing down, and making memories that people carry home with them.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be the caretakers of this beautiful piece of land along the river, and even more fortunate that you choose to spend a little bit of your summer here with us.

So, from the bottom of our hearts… thank you for being part of the Salmon Valley Campground family.

Now it is time for us to slow down, take a deep breath, put our feet up, and soak in a little of our own backyard before we begin dreaming about next summer.

And next summer is going to be a BIG one…

2027 marks our 10th season at Salmon Valley Campground! 🎉

Ten seasons of campfires.
Ten seasons of river days.
Ten seasons of friendships, laughter, memories, and a whole lot of muddy feet.

We’re already dreaming up some fun ways to celebrate and you can bet we’re going to celebrate BIG.

Until then, thank you for an incredible 2026 season.

❤️

We want to take a moment and send loads of love to the Cops for Cancer - Tour de North riders who will be starting their 7 day ride tomorrow.

These riders are absolutely incredible and have put so much into their training and fundraising. We have enjoyed visiting those riders who made our Treat Shack a destination or pit stop on their rides.

As with so many of us, cancer has taken some very cherished loved ones. In January, our son Diego passed away after a long hard battle with sarcoma. Some of these riders have attached stickers in memory of Diego on their bikes and think of him on their ride. ❤️

They will be coming through PG on the 15th. Come out and cheer them on. It is not too late to donate.

Our day becomes a lot brighter when we see these big hearted dedicated riders roll their way into the campground for a much needed break.

Cops for Cancer - Tour de North riders start their northern trek on September 11th for seven days. Each one of these guys and gals have been training hard and raising money for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society.

We love seeing them out by the Treat Shack for a cold drink, baked goodie and ice cream.

For more information about their story, check out the riders, their route and to donate, please head to

There is something about our space by the river.

A warm coffee.
A freshly baked goodie.
A scoop (or two!) of ice cream.
The sound of the river flowing by.
And maybe a few raindrops falling from the sky.

This place is pretty special in the sunshine, but there IS something equally beautiful about slowing down here when the skies are a little grey. Kinda feels like a hug.

You don’t have to be camping to come and enjoy it. You don’t need a big plan or a whole afternoon set aside.

Just come out. Grab yourself a little treat. Find a spot by the river. Take a breath.

We are heading into the final five weeks of our Treat Shack season, and we would really love to see you out here before we close up for another year.

We are open Saturday & Sunday from 9 am–4 pm. We also have pockets of times you can grab a treat during the week. Tuesday through Friday 9 am to 10 am and
2 pm to 3 pm.

And if Mother Nature decides to throw one of her little tantrums and sends us a proper storm, we may just call it an early day and head inside before we start floating away!

Come escape to the river.
Come have a little treat.
Come slow down for a bit.

There is something very special waiting for you here.

We will see you by the river.

There are days when it feels like am being pulled in a hundred different directions.

The campground is busy. There are guests to welcome, coffee to be made, sites to clean, firewood to deliver, ice cream to serve, and a never-ending list of things that need my attention.

And then I remember... The river is right here.

It doesn't ask anything of me. It doesn't need me to hurry. It simply invites me to pause.

So this morning, I sat by the water. I listened to the current. I let the sunshine warm my face. I dipped my toes in the river and reminded myself that sometimes the most productive thing we can do is simply be.

Nature has a beautiful way of grounding us. It quiets the noise, softens the overwhelm, and gently reminds us to come back to ourselves.

If life has been feeling a little heavy lately, maybe this is your reminder too.

Take ten minutes. Take thirty if you can.

Find a quiet place. Listen to the birds. Feel the breeze. Sit beside a river. Watch the trees sway.

The world will still be there when you get back.

But you might return feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, and a little more like yourself.

This place is so much more than a campground to many. It is where weI come to reconnect with nature, with gratitude, and with ourselves.

I hope that when you visit Salmon Valley Campground, you give yourself permission to do the same. ❤️

Summer has finally arrived!!

Our Treat Shack was a hit last week!

With this fabulous weather, we have extended our afternoon hours this week to 2 pm to 4pm.

Looking for a way to cool down? Pop by the Treat Shack for an ice cream or try one of our amazing lemonades or iced coffee treats. The river is perfect!!!

It's amazing how life has a way of bringing the right people together. ❤️

Remember the video I shared of me stacking two cords of firewood? Wow... I never expected the outpouring of love that followed. Thank you to everyone who commented, cheered me on, and sent such kind messages. Your encouragement meant more than you know.

I also received so many offers from people wanting to lend a hand. One message, though, stood out.
Laura reached out and shared that working at a campground like this is her dream job. We happened to have some mutual connections, and every single person had wonderful things to say about her. So... I invited her out to shadow me for a day.

Well, one day was all it took.

Laura has jumped in with both feet, and it feels like she has been part of the Salmon Valley Campground family forever. Some of you from Prince George may already know her and know what an incredible human she is.

She has a way of lighting up a room and making people smile wherever she goes, and that kindness shines through in everything she does.

You'll find Laura serving up treats in the Treat Shack, cleaning campsites and the wash house, splitting wood, helping with grounds maintenance, and now even delivering firewood to campers.

Who would have thought that one little firewood-stacking video would lead to something so special?

Welcome to the Salmon Valley Campground family, Laura. We're so happy you are here. ❤️

Sometimes the best things happen when we simply share a little piece of our everyday life.
