Our day becomes a lot brighter when we see these big hearted dedicated riders roll their way into the campground for a much needed break.

Cops for Cancer - Tour de North riders start their northern trek on September 11th for seven days. Each one of these guys and gals have been training hard and raising money for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society.

We love seeing them out by the Treat Shack for a cold drink, baked goodie and ice cream.

There is something about our space by the river.

A warm coffee.
A freshly baked goodie.
A scoop (or two!) of ice cream.
The sound of the river flowing by.
And maybe a few raindrops falling from the sky.

This place is pretty special in the sunshine, but there IS something equally beautiful about slowing down here when the skies are a little grey. Kinda feels like a hug.

You don’t have to be camping to come and enjoy it. You don’t need a big plan or a whole afternoon set aside.

Just come out. Grab yourself a little treat. Find a spot by the river. Take a breath.

We are heading into the final five weeks of our Treat Shack season, and we would really love to see you out here before we close up for another year.

We are open Saturday & Sunday from 9 am–4 pm. We also have pockets of times you can grab a treat during the week. Tuesday through Friday 9 am to 10 am and
2 pm to 3 pm.

And if Mother Nature decides to throw one of her little tantrums and sends us a proper storm, we may just call it an early day and head inside before we start floating away!

Come escape to the river.
Come have a little treat.
Come slow down for a bit.

There are days when it feels like am being pulled in a hundred different directions.

The campground is busy. There are guests to welcome, coffee to be made, sites to clean, firewood to deliver, ice cream to serve, and a never-ending list of things that need my attention.

And then I remember... The river is right here.

It doesn't ask anything of me. It doesn't need me to hurry. It simply invites me to pause.

So this morning, I sat by the water. I listened to the current. I let the sunshine warm my face. I dipped my toes in the river and reminded myself that sometimes the most productive thing we can do is simply be.

Nature has a beautiful way of grounding us. It quiets the noise, softens the overwhelm, and gently reminds us to come back to ourselves.

If life has been feeling a little heavy lately, maybe this is your reminder too.

Take ten minutes. Take thirty if you can.

Find a quiet place. Listen to the birds. Feel the breeze. Sit beside a river. Watch the trees sway.

The world will still be there when you get back.

But you might return feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, and a little more like yourself.

This place is so much more than a campground to many. It is where weI come to reconnect with nature, with gratitude, and with ourselves.

I hope that when you visit Salmon Valley Campground, you give yourself permission to do the same. ❤️

Summer has finally arrived!!

Our Treat Shack was a hit last week!

With this fabulous weather, we have extended our afternoon hours this week to 2 pm to 4pm.

Looking for a way to cool down? Pop by the Treat Shack for an ice cream or try one of our amazing lemonades or iced coffee treats. The river is perfect!!!

It's amazing how life has a way of bringing the right people together. ❤️

Remember the video I shared of me stacking two cords of firewood? Wow... I never expected the outpouring of love that followed. Thank you to everyone who commented, cheered me on, and sent such kind messages. Your encouragement meant more than you know.

I also received so many offers from people wanting to lend a hand. One message, though, stood out.
Laura reached out and shared that working at a campground like this is her dream job. We happened to have some mutual connections, and every single person had wonderful things to say about her. So... I invited her out to shadow me for a day.

Well, one day was all it took.

Laura has jumped in with both feet, and it feels like she has been part of the Salmon Valley Campground family forever. Some of you from Prince George may already know her and know what an incredible human she is.

She has a way of lighting up a room and making people smile wherever she goes, and that kindness shines through in everything she does.

You'll find Laura serving up treats in the Treat Shack, cleaning campsites and the wash house, splitting wood, helping with grounds maintenance, and now even delivering firewood to campers.

Who would have thought that one little firewood-stacking video would lead to something so special?

Looking for something fun to do Saturday? Our Community is hosting some good old fashioned family fun at the Gymkhana grounds down the road from the campground.

Stop by our Treatshack for an ice cream or cold beverage on your way down and enjoy a fun afternoon and evening in beautiful Salmon Valley. We are open from 9 am to 4 pm.

Huge shout out to the Salmon Valley Community Association , Salmon Valley Gymkhana Club , Salmon Valley Community Farmers Institute and the Salmon Valley Fire Dept for the time and energy put into this special day. Cannot wait!!!

Guess who will be hanging out at the campground Thursday night?!?!

Brian, will be bringing by the Chaco's Food Truck for mexican cuisine, pizza, poutine and chicken. He will be set up between 5 pm and 8 pm.

The Treat Shack will also be open for some beverages and ice cream.

A little update from our Treat Shack family

Running a small business is such a gift and sometimes it also means making difficult decisions.

This summer, we have had to adjust our Treat Shack hours to help keep this little dream sustainable.

Between rising costs, the realities of staffing, and wanting to continue offering a welcoming space by the river, we havemade the decision to reduce our hours for July and August. It also gives me, a chance to take a small breath and be a little more present with my own family and friends this summer.

Here is when you will find us...

☕ Monday: Closed

☕ Tuesday–Friday: • 9:00–10:00 a.m. – Coffee and a selection of fresh baked goodies • 2:00–3:00 p.m. – Ice cream on non-rainy days (because sunshine and ice cream just belong together!)

🍦 Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Coffee, treats, cold drinks, ice cream, and all the riverside goodness you've come to love.

We know this is a change, and we truly appreciate your understanding and continued support. Every coffee, scoop of ice cream, and baked treat you purchase helps support our little family business, and we are so grateful you have chosen to be part of this journey with us.

A friendly reminder that beach access is only available during Treat Shack operating hours. We are not able to offer day-use access outside of those times.
