🔥 ? 🔥Abundant berry crops that grow after a fire are an important food source for grizzly bears. Fires help to open up the forest, allowing light to reach the forest floor and increase the amount of berries produced. Grizzly bears can eat an incredible 200,000 berries a day!
Research conducted in Banff and Yoho National Parks show that bears strongly favour burned areas. Based on these findings Parks Canada uses prescribed fires to naturally restore and maintain grizzly bear habitat in Kootenay National Park. 🔥

It is official!
The Crescent Motel re-opened again this weekend under new ownership.
We want to thank all of our wonderful guests that stayed with us in the last 8 1/2 years for the amazing time we had here. We met a lot of fabulous people and made lots of friends but it is time for us to move on.
We made sure that we leave you in good hands.
Willem is the new owner and he moved here from Calgary after spending lots of holidays in this Valley. He has lots of new energy and ideas and will make sure that you will feel like home here as you always did.
