If you've enjoyed a steak with us at any point from March of 2025 until now, you've enjoyed a steak cooked by J.C.

After moving to Toronto from Singapore in 2023, J.C. worked as a line cook in a busy bar & grill in the entertainment district, honing his skills and working tirelessly to support his family overseas.
Since relocating to Alberta, J.C. has worked in every kitchen within the Red Deer Resort and Casino since January, 2024. You name it - he's done it.

In the face of every rush, J.C. looks it straight in the eyes, rubs his hands together, and proclaims his iconic call to arms: "LET'S GOOOO!".

This month, J.C. will be reuniting with his wife and 2 children in his home province of Quezon, Philippines.
We wish J.C. the very best in the successful adventures he's about to depart on!

Fear not - we have skilled & experienced faces joining our Hiy Steaks team, so we will continue to serve up some mean a** steaks.
Not only are we losing an outstanding member of our team, though, we're also saying goodbye to a dear friend. So, we'll be sad for awhile, and draw inspiration from him always.

His final night of service will be this Saturday, April 18th, from 5-9pm.

If you'd like to say hi, goodbye, and enjoy one last steak cooked by Grill Master J.C., please stop by! We know it'd mean the world to him.
