It is a completely modern drive-in resort located just minutes from the community of Red Lake, in Northwestern Ontario's spectacular "Sunset Country". We have nine cabins verying in size from 3 bedrooms (11 beds) to a more open concept living area which sleeps 3. All cabins are fully modern with eat in kitchens and 3 piece bathrooms. We offer 16ft "standard" aluminum boats with swivel seats and 25

-hp motors and 18ft "upgrades" with pedestal seats and 50-hp motors. There are over 60 miles of navigable waterways accessible form out docks. The Gull Rock chain of lakes consists of Red, Keg, Ranger, and Two Island Lakes. These lakes offer a lot of varied structure with sunken islands, weedy flats, steep drop-offs, and creek fed shallow bays. The plentiful , varied structure and the fact that the five lakes are connected by rivers and creeks ensure that you will enjoy excellent fishing right from the time the season opens in May through until the beginning of October. We also offer outpost lakes for those of you that like to portage to more remote areas, where you will likely be the only boat on the lake. We offer spring and fall bear hunts, winter wolf hunts and winter fishing packages. Besides hunting and fishing there are countless other summer activities to enjoy in the area. Hiking, wildlife photography, bird watching, swimming, and golfing (golfing is free!). You need only bring your food and beverages, fishing and hunting gear, life jackets, clothing, and towels. ... And don't forget your rain gear and a warm jacket!

2026 Five Lakes Lodge Walleye Classic goes down in the books!Mitch got the biggest with a 27.5” and Tim reeled in a whopper 9” for the smallest! It was a super hot day and a beautiful evening putting “Joe’s Place” to the test! Joe’s Place is a memorial spot we have been working on all summer. It will be a place to gather and make memories! Just have a few more additions to make and it will be done!

A couple of years ago, Jimmy invited us over for his fish tacos, and they've been a staple at the lodge ever since! We usually make them on the Blackstone, but a cast iron frying pan will do the trick if that's what you've got.

It's a nice change from all the deep-fried fish we smell around camp. Don't get us wrong—we love deep-fried walleye as much as anyone—but there are so many other delicious ways to cook this amazing fish!

These tacos are loaded with perfectly seasoned walleye, fresh homemade coleslaw, and a creamy mayo-sriracha sauce, all wrapped in a lightly toasted tortilla. Add your favorite toppings like cilantro, green onions, or cheese, and you've got a meal that's hard to beat.

Give this one a try and let us know what you think... it just might become a staple at your place too! 🌮🎣

🎣 Walleye Weekly Update! 🎣

This week is going to be one to beat! We had some serious fishermen in camp, and even with the scorching heat and enough bugs to carry you away, they still managed to put up incredible numbers.

A huge congratulations to Paulie, who landed this week's biggest fish—a beautiful 28.5" walleye! 🐟

We're still chasing that elusive 30-inch-plus giant. It's only a matter of time... maybe this week will finally be the one! 🤞

Thank you to everyone who has been taking part in our Weekly Walleye Challenge. It's been a lot of fun watching the totals climb each week and seeing some amazing catches while promoting catch-and-release conservation.

Who thinks they'll be the one to finally crack the 30-inch club? 🎣

🐾 Thinking about booking a trip to Five Lakes Lodge? Here's your official warning... 🐾

If you're not into furry visitors stopping by your cabin or greeting you at the dock, this might not be the camp for you! 😄

At Five Lakes Lodge, our four-legged welcoming committee consists of Cessna, Whiskey, and Moose. These three take their jobs very seriously! Don't be surprised if you hear a paw at your cabin door or window—they're likely stopping by to see if you have any treats to share or if you're available for a few belly rubs and snuggles.

They've become part of the Five Lakes experience, and many of our guests look forward to seeing them each year just as much as they look forward to catching walleye!

Here are a few snapshots of what their summer "work schedule" looks like. ❤️

Winter is a little quieter for the crew... with fewer cabins occupied, there just aren't nearly as many people to visit. They definitely prefer the busy summer season!

🐶 Which one would be your first fishing buddy—Cessna, Whiskey, or Moose?

🥗 Recipe of the Week! 🥗

This Southwest Salad has been a Five Lakes Lodge favorite for years! It's the perfect summer side dish, a great snack, or the ultimate topping for fish tacos. 🌽🍅🫘

The recipe says to refrigerate it overnight for the best flavor... but if we're being honest, we usually can't wait that long! 😄

Give it a try and let us know what you think. If you have a favorite recipe that's always a hit at the lodge, send it our way—we'd love to feature it in a future Recipe of the Week! 👨‍🍳🎣

Enjoy! 🌞

🎣 Walleye Weekly Update! 🎣

Last week sure threw us another curveball!

With temperatures climbing to 100°F+, there wasn't a whole lot of daytime fishing going on. Most guests were up before sunrise, back out in the evenings, and spent the hottest part of the day cooling off with a swim or relaxing in the air-conditioned cabins. (Don't worry... there was still plenty of great food to keep everyone happy! 😄)

To make things even more interesting, the mayflies hatched in full force. The fish were absolutely stuffed, and in some areas there were literal rivers of mayflies floating on the water. It was one of the biggest hatches we've seen in quite a while.

What a strange season it's been! We had a late ice-out, followed by an early blast of extreme heat, then a month of cooler weather, and now we're right back into another heat wave. It's no wonder the fish don't know what to do!

That's one of the reasons we're excited about making this Weekly Walleye Challenge an annual tradition. It will be fascinating to look back year after year and compare how factors like ice-out dates, weather patterns, mayfly hatches, and even the types of guests we have—whether they're hardcore anglers or families just here to relax—affect the fishing.

Every week tells a different story, and that's what makes fishing at Five Lakes Lodge so much fun.

🎣 Week of July 11–17
🐟 Total Walleye Caught: 1,670

🏆 Biggest Walleye: 26" (?)

We're not 100% certain on this one! If Ian's memory serves him right, 26" was the biggest walleye caught and released during the week, but we can't remember exactly who caught it.

If that was you, please let us know! We'd love to give you the credit you deserve and add your name to the Weekly Walleye Challenge board.

Thanks to everyone who turned in their numbers. We love seeing the friendly competition, hearing the stories behind the catches, and watching this challenge grow each season. Let's see what next week has in store! 🎣

Thanks for checking in everyone, but we are OK.

🔥 Fire Ban in Effect 🔥

Northwestern Ontario, including the Red Lake area, is currently under a restrictive fire ban as hot, dry conditions continue across our region.

This means absolutely no outdoor fires. The goal is to reduce the risk of wildfires and help protect our forests, communities, and everyone enjoying the outdoors.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate this season to avoid the heavy smoke and evacuations that have impacted previous years. Let’s all do our part to keep it that way.

Please respect the fire ban, stay alert, and use extra caution while enjoying everything our beautiful region has to offer.

Stay safe, everyone—and thank you for doing your part to help protect Northwestern Ontario. ❤️🌲

🎣 Walleye Weekly Update! 🎣

Sorry for the late post—we were waiting on the numbers from one last cabin!

Last week was a great one, with lots of couples enjoying time on the water and making some great memories. We handed out quite a few Over 40” Northern Club shirts and Over 28” Walleye Club shirts, so there were definitely some impressive fish caught!

The weather turned hot by the end of the week, and the mayflies are out in full force, which may have slowed the bite a little. Even so, it was another successful week with plenty of fish being boated.

We’re still waiting for someone to land that 30-inch walleye to claim the top spot on our Biggest Fish board. Who’s going to be the first? 🎣🏆

Good luck to this week’s guests—we can’t wait to see what the next update brings!
