What would YOU do with 48 hours at Poplar Waters Cottages?🌿

If you're planning a fall getaway in Nova Scotia, you don't have to spend your entire weekend driving from one place to another trying to find things to do.

At Poplar Waters, you can arrive, settle in and create your entire weekend experience right here. ❤️

🌿 DAY ONE

Arrive at your cozy cottage in River John, Nova Scotia and take a minute to simply settle in.

No rushing.

No schedule.

Just you, the people you came with and a beautiful place to enjoy together.

Start your weekend with a paddle down the river in the paddle boat or take the kayaks out and explore the water while the days are still warm and beautiful. 🌊

Then warm up in the sauna...

And for those feeling adventurous, take a refreshing dip in the river right from our dock before heading back into the heat.

There is something pretty incredible about going from the hot sauna to the cool water.
It's like having your own little Nordic spa
experience right here on the property. 🔥🌊

As the evening settles in...

Slip into the hot tub.

Light the campfire.

Or cozy up inside beside the wood stove.

And don't worry about bringing firewood.
We supply plenty. 🔥

🍂 DAY TWO

Wake up slowly.

Coffee outside.

River views.

Nowhere you need to be.

Then if you're ready for a little adventure...
Rent one of our ATVs and head out onto the Trans Canada Trail to explore the beautiful fall colours of Nova Scotia. 🍁

Make your way toward Tatamagouche, a charming and growing little community where you can explore local shops, grab something to eat, visit the brewery or wander through town.

Then head back to Poplar Waters.
Because after a day of adventure, you'll still have your hot tub waiting.

Your firewood stacked.

Your cozy cottage.

And the river right outside your door. ❤️

🌿 DAY THREE

Before heading home, why not slow down one more time?

Soak in the front porch morning sun with coffee in hand.

Or book yourself an on-site massage with a Registered Massage Therapist without ever having to leave the property. 💆‍♀️

Because that's one of the things we love most about Poplar Waters.

You can fill your weekend with adventure...
Or you can do absolutely nothing at all.

❤️ A little bit about how Poplar Waters came to be...

We bought this property in January of 2020.

At the time, there was just the log cabin and a little garage. Violet was only three months old, and just a few months later, Covid hit and the world slowed down in a way none of us expected.

Josh and I found ourselves spending more and more time here.

We watched the sun come up over the river with our coffee in hand. We swam, kayaked, picked berries, sat around fires and simply enjoyed being together.

And we fell completely in love with this little piece of the world.

We already had a home, so eventually we thought...

Why not share this?

Everyone deserves the chance to experience a place that makes you slow down, breathe a little deeper and remember what really matters.

So we opened the log cabin to guests.

And one cottage slowly became another... and then another.

At one point, we actually planned to build a much larger campground. We installed four full RV hookup sites and had plenty of room to grow.

But somewhere along the way, we realized that bigger wasn't what we wanted.

We didn't want more noise, more people or more hustle.

We wanted to protect the peace.

So we chose to keep Poplar Waters small, quiet and intimate. A place for couples and small families to reconnect, make memories and simply enjoy being together. We added a sauna and a massage space instead.

Since then, our family has grown right alongside this property. Violet is now six, we welcomed our second daughter Nevaeh, and Poplar Waters has continued to grow with us.

Whenever one of the cottages isn't booked, there's a good chance you'll find our own family here.

Because we still love it just as much as we did in the beginning.

Josh pours his heart into building and caring for this property. I pour mine into hosting and preparing each space for our guests.

And together, we've built something we're incredibly proud of.

We're not finished yet. We still have dreams and ideas for Poplar Waters.

But one thing will always remain the same...

We want this to be a place where you can slow down, connect, breathe and make memories with the people you love. ❤️
