Human trafficking happens in every province — and awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have to stop it.

At Blue Crescent Hotels, we are proud to participate in the Manitoba Hotel Association’s No Room for Trafficking Campaign, which helps educate hotel team members to recognize, respond, and report suspected human trafficking.

🔹 Training hotel staff to spot warning signs
🔹 Clear protocols for reporting concerns
🔹 Supporting law enforcement investigations

We also encourage our hotels to contribute room photos to TraffickCam, a secure North American image database used by law enforcement to help identify locations shown in trafficking-related images.

February 22 was Human Trafficking Awareness Day and we stand with our industry partners, law enforcement, and communities to say:
There is NO ROOM for trafficking in our hotels — or anywhere.

New Hotel Project Coming to Stonewall, Manitoba – Construction Planned for Early Summer

We’re excited to share that Steel Creek Developers is planning to begin construction early this summer on a new hotel along Highway #236, marking the first construction project within the community’s new Aging in Place Campus.

This hotel will become the next Blue Crescent Hotels–branded property, featuring 30 guest rooms across 8 different room types, all built around our signature split-room design that offers added flexibility and comfort for families, workers, and extended stays.

In addition to an indoor pool and waterslide designed for hours of visiting-family enjoyment, the hotel will also include:

A meeting room for local business and community use

Complimentary continental breakfast

A fitness room

Guest laundry facilities

The project will be very similar to our Arborg location, which successfully opened at the end of 2024, and reflects the same focus on practical design, quality construction, and community-oriented hospitality.

A local investment group has been formed to own and operate the hotel and is excited to bring this new hospitality resource to the Town of Stonewall in partnership with LCL Construction as the builder and Access Credit Union as the lender.

Blue Crescent Hotels currently operates locations in Carman and Arborg, with another hotel currently under construction at Deacon's Corner east of Winnipeg.

Wow! What a great day. Today we celebrated the Grand Opening of the New Blue Crescent Hotels - Arborg location. The community showed up en masse for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and definitely let us know how excited they are about this new business and service to the community.
Thank you to James Bezan (MP for Selkirk-Interlake-Eastman), Derek Johnson (MLA for Interlake-Gimli) and Peter Dueck (Mayor of the Town of Arborg), for your kind and supportive comments. They were joined by Brian Johnson (Reeve of the RM of Bifrost-Riverton) and Stan Loewen (representing the local Ownership Group).
After the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, visitors could tour the building check out the pool and all of our interesting and unique room layouts. Congratulations to the area, New Staff of hotel and especially the Ownership Group. We wish you all the best with this new business, from us here at Blue Crescent Hotels and Steel Creek Developers.

6:40 am and our mountain of garbage and recycling is complete. Time for bed then last day of setup! We celebrate with shareholders in a private function tonight then open for business Saturday afternoon. Remember to join us on Saturday between 2:00 and 6:00.

Steady work continues this week on the lead up to our Grand Opening this Saturday. More deliveries and inspections today as well as staff training. Some of our building signage was installed today as well. Always a good day to see them go up. Some late nights to go but we are in a good position to be ready to welcome everyone to our Grand Opening this Saturday, Dec.14. Ribbon Cutting at 2:00pm followed by a Come and Go Open House until 6:00pm. Come wander the hotel, look through all our different room types and enter the draw for our Grand Opening Prizes! See you then!
