📢 Important Update from Raven Ridge

We want to share an important update regarding our upcoming schedule. Our September event has been canceled, and Raven Ridge will be closing indefinitely starting this fall.
While this decision wasn't made lightly, it marks the beginning of a necessary chapter for us. We are taking this time to pause, step back, and focus on reinventing what Raven Ridge will look like moving forward. Our goal is to reimagine our vision and return stronger, more aligned, and ready for the next phase of our journey.
To everyone who has supported us, shared space with us, and been a part of this community: thank you. Your support means the world to us.
Please keep an eye on this page for future updates as we evolve. We look forward to reconnecting with you all down the road. 🌲✨

Invitation to Rock Creek and beyond.

Following up on my last post about the 4th time our business sign has been vandlized: We’ve decided to leave the damaged sign up for now. It’s a visual reminder that while we’ve been busy building at Raven Ridge, there’s still a lot of work to be done in terms of how we relate to one another as neighbors.
To be honest, the local silence around these four incidents has been as loud as the damage itself. But instead of reacting, we want to clear the air and move forward.
This Wednesday May 6th, we’ll be at the end of Hulme Creek Rd and Hwy 3 with free coffee and cold drinks.
We aren't looking for escalation; we’re looking for a connection. If you’ve been curious about what we’re doing, if you have concerns, or if you just want to meet the people behind the sign, come have coffee with us.
Relationships aren’t built through drive-bys or social media posts, they’re built face-to-face. We’ll be there, and our door is open.
See you Wednesday around 10 am

THE COST OF REMAINING VISIBLE

It is a heavy thing to realize that your presence in your own community has turned you and your family into a target. Last night our business sign was vandalized again… The first one was physically destroyed and stolen, now its replacement has been shot with a paint gun and damaged less than a week later. A business sign is a massive investment of time and resources. It’s a symbol of our right to be here, and for some, that is a transgression they can't forgive.

I’ve lived at Raven Ridge for 24 years. I have raised my family here, and poured my soul into this land and community. Yet, I am still haunted by a narrative that I didn't write. Such is the small town rumor mill. It’s a weight knowing that when our property is destroyed, there are people, some we’ve never even met, and even some who have eaten at our table that quietly cheer. They’ve been fed stories about us for
years. They remember us for refusing to stay quiet during those years of forced isolation. They remember me for being a nuisance and never giving up the search for my friend, Colleen Smith missing a decade now. When you refuse to be invisible, people build a perspective of you to justify their own hostility. They turn you into a pariah so they don't have to see you as a valued member of the community.

It is exhausting to be the subject of rumors that grow with the telling. It’s heartbreaking to realize that crime is being excused because of whispers and old grudges.

I have filed a report, not because they do anything but because IT IS A CRIME. It certainly doesn't fix the fact that it is safer for someone to shoot our sign with paint than to walk through my gate and have a real conversation with us.

We are working on cleaning up the new sign. But we aren't going anywhere. 24 years on this land has given me roots not easily dug up.

The gate at Raven Ridge is open. It has been for over two decades, and we're still here, still waiting for the peole looking for real conversations, face-to-face. Come check us out.

Unfortunate news this morning. This post is calling for information. The Raven Ridge sign on Hwy 3 was vandalized last night and in fact is missing altogether. Two 4x4 signs and two more smaller ones. It took some effort to ripped it off the post. All the screws holding it on are still intact. If anyone saw something, possibility a vehicle pulled over at the end of Hulme Creek Rd on the Friday evening, April 3rd please reach out.
