Horses have their favourite places, and around here the big old spruce is always the first choice.

There’s something about that deep canopy — the way the branches sweep low and knit together — that makes a horse breathe easier. A mature spruce blocks wind better than most man‑made shelters, sheds snow like a roof, and creates a dry pocket of ground even after a storm.

Stand under one with your herd and you’ll feel it too: the air is calmer, the sound is softer, and the world shrinks to a quiet circle of safety.
No wonder they choose it every time.
