It feels so good when guests enjoy our Vacation Rental. This wonderful family flew up from the USA for a death in the family. They were able to use our place to decompress and relax.

Even though things are slower in the winter, it’s still fun to receive these notices. Right now we have a set of guests staying for 9 days…to enjoy snowmobiling out by Nordegg. When the fella booking asked me if I “was the Annette Selent from Gull Lake”, I wasn’t sure if admitting to it would win the booking…or😳😬🤷‍♂️😎

I had such an enjoyable time hosting this group. I didn’t know what to expect from a group of church ministers + a minister in training for a church similar to the Crossroads in Red Deer. The lady minister enjoyed stargazing(hard to do in the city) and forest bathing. Another enjoyed jamming on the guitar. With their valuable feedback, we’ve added shoe horns to the foyer space. I’m glad someone enjoyed the little herb garden created just for guests and also, helpfully, used our compost bucket for their scraps. Our gardens will appreciate them♥️

It’s been quite a rush this past month, receiving and hosting our first 5 sets of guests, through the Airbnb platform. They have all been fabulous and kindly gave feedback as to any tweaks we could do to improve the guest experiences. Some were easy fixes, like bracing an outdoor step. Some will take a little thought and time, like putting in more garden beds.
These are our first 5 reviews. We couldn’t be more pleased 😁

We spent some time on Earth Day picking up the garbage that had blown in, from Taimi Road, into our forest at A Step in Thyme: This seemed like a perfect annual undertaking 😁
