The Keeper's Kitchen Five room Inn located in St. Shotts, NL (mid-way on the Irish Loop). See details: www.thekeeperskitchen.com

Honouring 5 generations of lighthouse keeping in the Myrick family, we offer cosy rooms, gourmet-style evening meals, foraging adventures & more. We invite you to take an adventure with us on the Irish Loop and immerse yourself in an authentic maritime experience. Feast in our kitchen, hear shipwreck stories on the barrens and enjoy a front-row seat to traditional and original live music. With generations of our lighthouse keeper knowledge, you'll have expert navigation to all there is to see and do in the region. If you want to learn about our folklore, history, food and traditions, our Foraging Feast experience is perfect - it's got it all: nature, folklore, history, culture, tradition, music and of course wild food! If you're interested in the rich history of our shores, you won't want to miss our Shipwreck Heroes adventure, where we hike to see the remnants of The Crewe – a ship that was wrecked in 1901. Afterwards, we'll visit Cape Pine Lighthouse, where you will learn about advances in navigational tools and the significance of Cape Pine to the Myrick family. We are the ideal spot to make your home base while exploring the beautiful southern tip of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula. We're certain you'll feel a special kind of light—inside and out—when you stay at the Keepers Kitchen.

And just like that, Season 5 has come to a close. 🤍

There’s something about the end of a season here that always feels a little different. Maybe it’s because we never quite know what the next one will look like.

So much can change between one season and the next. Life has a way of reminding us that very little is guaranteed, so we’ve learned to embrace each season for what it is rather than make assumptions about what comes after it.

What we do know with absolute certainty is how incredibly fortunate we are to have the support of the people who walk through our doors, who share our table, recommend us to others, return year after year and cheer us on from near and far.

This season was particularly meaningful for us as we introduced a new concept at The Keeper’s Kitchen Inn. There was, of course, a little nervousness that came with trying something different. Would our guests embrace it? Would they understand what we were trying to create?

You answered those questions for us in the most wonderful way.

Your feedback, encouragement and enthusiasm have meant more than we can adequately put into words. Knowing that the experience we worked so hard to create was received with such warmth is incredibly validating as well as deeply encouraging and satisfying.

We pour a great deal of ourselves into this little place. Into the food, the small touches and details, the atmosphere, the service and most importantly, into creating an experience that feels worthy of the people who choose to spend their time with us.

So, as we close the door on Season 5, we simply want to say thank you.

• Thank you for trusting us to try something new.
• Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback.
• Thank you for continuing to support this tiny town in a little corner of Newfoundland.
• And thank you for reminding us, season after season, that what we’re doing matters.

Whatever the future holds, we’ll always be grateful for the seasons we’ve been given and for the people who have made them so very special.

Until next time, with full hearts and enormous gratitude. 🤍 Thank You All

Gorgeous day for harvesting some of our oregano! It grew like crazy this year! And it drys really quickly too.

Still loads of it left if anyone would like some. Just let me know. It’s awesome on pizza, Italian pasta dishes, meat stews or roasted veggies. Great in baked goods too.

----> 💫 BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND 💫 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟰 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁

This is not your average dinner—it’s a story-filled, belly-warming evening where every bite has a backstory. We’re thrilled to share the ingredients, memories and spirit of both our Norwegian and Newfoundland roots.

Fair warning: this menu is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬—it’s a feast rooted in tradition, salt air and generations of seafaring kitchens.

We’ve kept the guest list small for good reason—this is an intimate evening meant to be savoured slowly, like a good tale told by candlelight.

Join us for our last feast of Season Five!

$99.00 per person (includes our Signature Cocktail or Mocktail)

What a day on St. Shotts coastline! No guests this weekend, so we took to the outdoors… feels like we’re on vacation! We even enjoyed some vino! Can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday! Found loads of wild plants along the way including tons of lovage, river mint, some self heal, lots of asters too… just beautiful. Now it’s mojito time with some of that wild mint!
