As another season has come and gone we just want to thank everyone for a great fall here. We saw lots of familiar faces again but also lots of new ones. So many laughs and good stories with good people. And we got to celebrate a few birthdays this season also. I also finally got the south side of the lodge painted, don’t let the picture fool you, they didn’t have much time to help before they had to leave for their afternoon hunt, they wanted to help. This season was one for the books and I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces next season!

The lodge got a little upgrade. We were hard at work at the end of August and beginning of September.. between the cold weather and the rain we managed a paint job and some landscaping. Can’t wait for you all to come back to see it (and us) in person.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Texas 🤍

This post isn’t about highways, and it’s not about Canada. It’s about humanity. And tonight, our hearts are with Texas. 💖

TEXAS – Catastrophic flash floods hit central Texas yesterday, sending the Guadalupe River near Kerrville surging over 8 meters in just 45 minutes. Roads were washed out. Homes destroyed. Lives changed forever.

As of tonight, 47 lives have been lost across three counties. In Kerr County alone, officials confirmed 43 deaths — including 15 children.

The tragedy has hit one camp especially hard. Camp Mystic remains at the center of heartbreak, with 27 children still unaccounted for.

Around 3 a.m. on July 4, National Weather Service data shows the river was rising about 1 foot every 5 minutes at Hunt, Texas, near the camp. By 4:30 a.m., the water had risen more than 20 feet.

We may be far away, but we stand close in spirit. Texas, you are in our prayers. 😭🇨🇦

The aurora borealis was perfect the other night. The colors were amazing. I stayed up way past my bedtime for this shot, which if you know me isn’t really that late 😅 but I hope you enjoy!

Our winters can be quite harsh, but once it warms up a bit we get this beautiful hoar frost. ❄️ it’s a balmy -1 Celsius (30.2 Fahrenheit). We hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
