According to the birds at the feeder, Spring is just around the corner...and before you know it, Summer will arrive in all its glory! Starting on June 3rd, the cottage will be available for your perfect getaway! Introducing a minimum stay of 3 days, the daily cost during the week is $90, on weekends it's $100. The cost for a whole week is $600 and for a whole month it's $2000 (no tax for any stay). The heated pool will also be available at specified hours everyday for cottage guests. Labour Day Weekend ("the LAST weekend") is just around the corner and the weather forecast looks great for camping! Come on up for the lovely country setting, the campfire, the stars, the cows, calves, pigs and horses...and oh yes don't forget the turkeys (otherwise known as the welcoming committee)...!!

The turkeys are so comical and interesting to watch! Here they are approaching me on the farm lane...all curious and charming as they chatter to each other!

Dear Friends and Patrons of The Mermaid & The Cow Campground:
This year will mark the final camping season for The Mermaid & The Cow Campground. After 14 years of operation, I have decided to retire. I will be 65 in the Spring, and am looking forward to a slower pace and spending time with family and friends. I wish to thank you for your patronage, and extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support over the years. It has been a joy to meet so many interesting and lovely people, and to share the beauty and peacefulness of my little farm.
The Campground will come to a close on September 7th, 2015, following the Labour Day Weekend. If you wish to camp one last time at The Mermaid & The Cow Campground, please make your reservations now by calling 902-305-4016!

All the critters have been relaxing and enjoying each other's company while we've been busy at the hay! Lots of rain in the last few days has "greened" things up and refreshed plants and animals...so we're ready for when the weather clears and warms again by the weekend...to welcome you to the campground for an enjoyable, peaceful, relaxing stay!

Warm and sunny Summer weather has arrived and it's perfect for camping at The Mermaid & The Cow! Our feisty third calf was born a few days ago; East Coast Glamping set up three beautiful bell tents here this week; and the new heated pool is inviting...

The new swimming pool has been installed, and is heated! The Summer is going to warm up starting July 1st, so why not plan on a fun get-a-way to enjoy the beauty of the farm and animals who live here!

The campground officially opens today, June 19th! The cattle are happily munching away on pasture, the pigs are settling in, the baby chicks and turkeys are cheeping and exploring their new digs. Due to winter damage, the swimming pool is in the process of being replaced and will be available by next weekend at the latest, complete with a new pool heater.

The chicks are now 4 days old. It is such a delight to see how fast they move around!

Our second calf born this year is named in honour of Megan Leslie and she is a beauty!

Our first calf of the season was born a few days ago...his name is Angus and here he is showing off on his first little run around...
