The Homestay Program is the heartbeat of the Nova Scotia International Program experience. For students it's a way to learn about the Canadian way of life. For host families, it's an opportunity to gain a new family member. Host families are reimbursed for expenses with a monthly stipend.

Host families are needed in the school districts of Lockeport, Shelburne and Barrington/Cape Island/Woods Harbour areas.

Activating the Energy Transition in Shelburne County held a Renewable Energy Tour on Saturday March 22, 2014. I was well attended and participants were inspired by real examples of how people and organizations in Shelburne County are using renewable energy to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. Our tour guide was Dr. Wayne Groszko, Professor of Sustainable Energy Technology with the Nova Scotia Community College.
