Van-Es Camp & Conference Centre Our Harmony Centre is ideal for your meeting and seminar needs. Our Morning Star Hall is well-equipped to host up to 175 people for day conferences.

The Van-Es Camp & Conference Centre is the perfect place to meet the needs of those organizing conferences, courses, retreats, workshops, reunions, birthday parties and weddings. The Van-Es Camp & Conference Centre has modern banquet facilities, conference and meeting rooms (with hi-speed Internet access), indoor swimming pool and hot tub, historic chapel, and wonderful grounds with miles of nature trails. We offer a number of menus for catered meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, even banquets. Our pool is great for aquafit classes and swimming lessons. And our chapel and grounds are an ideal place to hold your wedding. Located just 20 minutes southeast of Edmonton on South Cooking Lake, the Van-Es Camp and Conference Centre is located on 100 acres of secluded wooded land. Modern and rustic cabins for around 65 people are also available for overnight accommodation year-round. We are so grateful for everyone who joined us yesterday for our Truth and Reconciliation Day Community Gathering.

The evening was a beautiful reminder of what happens when we make space to listen, learn, and be together. Our partners at the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society opened the event, sharing two traditional songs that grounded our time together.

From there, we shared a truly incredible community potluck in Morningstar Hall. As the evening slowed, we moved into powerful Orange Shirt Day teachings, followed by time spent crafting medicine bags together and making bannock around the campfire.

Thank you to everyone who shared their evening with us. We truly believe that bringing diverse people together around campfires, shared meals, and nature builds a stronger, more compassionate world.

Our circle is stronger with you in it. 🧡

We are officially looking for local artisans, crafters, bakers, and small businesses to join us for our Christmas at Van Es Market. If you make handmade goods, holiday treats, or have unique local products, we’d love to host you in our cozy woodland space this winter.

When: Sunday, December 6, 2026 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Where: Van Es Camp (51244 Range Rd 220, Sherwood Park)
Cost: $25 per 6-foot table space

We provide the table and chairs; you just need to bring your own linens! Vendor load-in starts at 8:30 AM.

Looking for some incredible live music this weekend? Come on out to Van Es Camp to catch the Wye String Ensemble in concert!

As part of the Strathcona County String Music Camp running through September 13th, these talented local musicians will be filling the grounds with beautiful string orchestra and chamber music. The public is warmly invited to come enjoy the music and support these incredible performers out on the land.

The Strathcona County String Music Camp runs from September 10 to 13, 2026 and welcomes amateur string players aged 14 and up.

Join us for our final orchestra concert of the weekend featuring Shah Sadlkov, assistant conductor of the ESO, and local professional and amateur musicians.

The final concert will be on Sunday, September 13 at 6 pm in the Harmony Centre on the beautiful grounds of Van Es Camp and Conference Centre in Strathcona County. Admission to the concert is free.

We are hosting a special Truth and Reconciliation Day gathering at camp on September 30th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and we would love for you and your family to join us!

To keep the event intimate we are strictly capping the guest list at 100 people, and spots are filling up fast! The wonderful team at Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society will guide the evening.
We will start with a community potluck, then head out for a guided walk along the forested trails right as the sun sets.

Afterward, we will gather around our fire pit to make bannock on a stick, share Orange Shirt Day teachings, and work on cultural crafts together!

It will be a peaceful, grounded evening of listening, learning, and community out on the land. Registration is by donation, but you will need to claim a ticket so we can manage our 100-person limit.

Service Memorial Chapel - Built in 1950 at Camp Van Es to resemble a hunting lodge to blend in with the scenery at Van Es. The chapel is built with heavy timber and is truly one of a kind.
