A day trip to Sidney Island is always a great day! Beautiful Sandy beaches perfect for picnics!

Sidney Island is part of the beautiful Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. Our 40 foot semi-displacement cabin cruiser catamaran, the Alpine II, is used to travel five kilometres (by sea) between Sidney Island and the town of Sidney, BC.

It was April 1, and as my wife and I drove toward the small seaside town of Sidney. B.C., the parting clouds and brilliant sunshine made the rainy forecast seem like an April Fool’s Day joke.
