September 11, 2001 – Never Forget

Today we solemnly honor and remember the thousands of lives lost on September 11, 2001. Among them were civilians beginning their day, as well as the firefighters, police officers, and paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The losses of 9/11
• 2,977 lives lost in total
• 2,753 at the World Trade Center
• 343 FDNY firefighters
• 71 law enforcement officers (including 23 NYPD and 37 Port Authority Police)
• 8 EMTs/Paramedics

As Canadians, we stand in unity with our neighbors in the United States, reflecting on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
