Are we half way through summer? How??

You asked, we answered. So we put in a private booking system this winter and it’s been amazing!

We have a few dates between some bookings available.

Can’t stay long? Then stay one night! Just ask us for availability.

September is still very open and the weather is like summer. We’ll be swimming until late September as well.

Tuesday brought us such joy.

Wednesday something wasn’t right.

We haven’t given her a name yet but we know she’s a fighter.

Vet confirmed her colostrum level was very low and she needed plasma. We were told that taking her to a hospital was the only way to get her better. No alternate solution was given.

Euthanasia was highly recommended. Vile was ready to administer.

Our son took her blankets off and she jumped up and went straight to her mama for milk. Vet was still willing to proceed. 😔

Trusted our gut instinct and was able to get an amazing vet to administer the plasma here in her home.

If we can do a home birth with the horse, why can’t we administer plasma at the same place?

Moral of the story: trust your gut.

She is thriving! Linda, her mama stood over her for over two hours trusting us that we were doing everything we could to keep her alive.

Education is knowledge but you need to mix it with empathy and trusting nature. Nature always wins.
