🌎 DIVERSECITY IS IN KENSINGTON TODAY!
DiverseCity is bringing its multicultural celebration to Kensington today, with food, music, dance, arts, crafts and an opportunity to celebrate some of the many cultures and people who now call PEI home.
This one feels especially worth highlighting.
PEI may be tiny, but our community continues to grow and change, and there’s something pretty wonderful about gathering together to learn about one another, share food, enjoy music and celebrate what everybody brings to the table. 🌎🤍
🪶 PANMURE ISLAND POW WOW CONTINUES TODAY
The annual Panmure Island Pow Wow is also happening this weekend.
For anyone attending, this is an opportunity to respectfully experience and support Mi’kmaq culture, community and tradition here on Epekwitk.

🎶 CLOGGEROO WRAPS UP TODAY!
Over in the Montague/Three Rivers area, Cloggeroo — The Island Folk Festival is wrapping up another weekend of live music and community celebration.
If you’re heading east today, consider showing some love to our Island musicians, organizers and the many people who keep local festivals like this going year after year. 🎻👏
🎡 OLD HOME WEEK IS IN FULL SWING!
Old Home Week continues in Charlottetown through August 22, bringing together the midway, agriculture, livestock events, Island entertainment and harness racing.
The field has also now been determined for the 67th Gold Cup & Saucer following Saturday’s trials. 🐴🏆
Whether Old Home Week is a treasured annual family tradition or you’re primarily there to eat something questionably deep-fried while spending an irresponsible amount of money attempting to win a stuffed animal roughly the size of a Honda Civic…

The Tri-Lobster Multi-Sport Festival is another event happening this weekend in Summerside, bringing athletes together for swimming, cycling and running.

The Charlottetown Library Learning Centre is open this afternoon, and a family movie showing of Aladdin has been listed for today.
Free activities matter, especially during summer when entertaining tiny humans can begin to feel like a second mortgage. 😂

A St. Margaret’s Kitchen Party & Square Dance is listed for tonight at St Margarets Parish Hall in eastern PEI.

We are approximately one potato away from achieving maximum Prince Edward Island. 🥔😂

There’s also an Ella Fitzgerald tribute featuring Dee Hernandez scheduled as part of the Under the Spire series at beautiful St. Mary’s Church in Indian River.
And Tip Er Back at Afton Hall is another local music option listed for tonight in New Dominion.

🛍️ SHOP LOCAL WHILE YOU’RE OUT!
The Downtown Charlottetown Farmers Market is happening around Confederation Landing Park today, with Island farmers, makers, artists, bakers and food vendors to discover.
And this doesn’t only apply to markets.
If you’re adventuring around PEI today, consider stopping at a locally owned shop, grabbing lunch from an Island restaurant, buying something from a roadside stand, visiting an artist or maker, or tossing a few dollars into the local economy wherever you happen to be.
Those seemingly small purchases matter enormously to the people behind our Island businesses. 💙
🚧 A QUICK ROAD HEADS-UP BEFORE YOU GO
There’s still plenty of construction happening across PEI, including work around Five Houses, Roseneath/Pooles Corner and the new Cornwall roundabout at Kingston Road/Warren Grove Road/Lakeview Drive.
South Montague Road also remains closed for bridge repairs.
Some GOOD news: the bridge replacement in Alaska, PEI is complete and the road reopened Friday. 👏
Give yourself a little extra time, slow down around construction zones and please give crews room to work safely. ❤️
🔥 PLANNING A CAMPFIRE? CHECK BEFORE YOU LIGHT!
PEI remains in fire season. Even when campfires are permitted, conditions can change, so check the province’s current burning restrictions before lighting anything and remember that municipal rules may be different.
Our Island is far too beautiful to gamble with. 🌲🤍
