Hosted Scouts this past weekend. They did water and canoe safety, rode their bikes and hiked a bit. It was such a fun weekend that forgot to take photos. Photos blurry on purpose.

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour Residential School Survivors, their families and communities, and the children who never returned home.

It is a day to reflect on the painful and lasting impacts of the Residential School system, to listen and learn, and to recognize that Every Child Matters.

On September 30, the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation will host a gathering at Cape Croker Park to honour truth, recognize cultural resilience, and strengthen a shared commitment to unity and reconciliation.

Everyone is welcome to attend, learn and take part.

Members of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula Council and staff will be attending this important gathering, and we encourage members of our community to join us as we listen, learn and continue our shared journey toward reconciliation.

🌿 Bruce Trail Day FREE Interpretative Hike: A Journey Through Time on Jones Bluff 🌿

Experience the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula in a new and transformative way with the Cape Croker Park Anishinaabe Cultural Experiences Program. Join us on Bruce Trail Day for an immersive interpretative hike through the beautiful Jones Bluff in Neyaashiinigmiing with Anishinaabe guide Caley Doran.

On this hike, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the land through an Anishinaabe lens, intertwining natural history, personal story and community connection. Along the way, you'll learn about the traditional plants and wildlife that play an important role in the traditional and contemporary lives of the Anishinaabek people.

Expect pauses for conversation, questions and quiet observation as we consider how we relate to the land, and how the land relates to us.
