πŸ”₯ Good news for campers and outdoor lovers.

The District of Squamish has temporarily lifted the campfire ban beginning Friday, May 15 at 12 PM. If you have a valid campfire permit, you can safely enjoy a campfire throughout the Victoria Day long weekend.

Always follow local fire regulations, keep water or a shovel nearby, and never leave your fire unattended. If conditions become too dry, restrictions may be reinstated with little notice.

⛴️ Planning a trip to Vancouver Island or the Sunshine Coast this summer?

BC Ferries says it has been preparing for a busy season by adding more sailings where possible, hiring over 600 seasonal employees, and expanding booking options to help travellers secure their preferred sailing times.

The summer schedule on some routes will begin earlier than usual, starting June 11, as BC Ferries expects increased demand throughout the season.

If you are travelling this summer, booking in advance and checking current conditions before you leave can help make your trip much smoother. πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

Nothing beats Squamish in the warmer months πŸ’¦ From paddleboarding at Alice Lake to cold dips in the river after a hike, water days here just hit different.
But with more people heading outdoors, it’s important to keep our lakes, rivers, and beaches clean and safe for everyone. Pick up your garbage, avoid glass near the water, respect wildlife, and remember that those freezing rivers can be stronger than they look. 🌊

Every once in a while, a property comes up that makes people stop scrolling πŸ‘€πŸŒŠ
A rare waterfront lot near Britannia Beach has just been listed, and honestly, the views alone are enough to make anyone dream about living on the coast. Between the mountains, the ocean, and the quiet tucked away location, it feels like something straight out of a movie.
The Sea to Sky keeps growing, but opportunities like this do not come around often. Would you rather live oceanfront in Britannia Beach or mountainside in Squamish? πŸ‘‡πŸ”οΈ

Squamish is one of those places that feels special the second you step outside. 🌲 Whether you’re hiking, biking, camping, swimming, or just stopping to enjoy the view, a little outdoor etiquette goes a long way in keeping it beautiful for everyone.
Pack out your garbage. Stay on marked trails. Keep dogs under control where needed. Give wildlife space. And maybe most importantly, remember that locals, visitors, kids, families, and adventurers are all sharing the same backyard. πŸ’š
We’d love to hear from you πŸ‘‡

Definitely not the kind of news anyone wants heading into sunny weather season πŸ˜…πŸŒ²
Several wildfires popped up around the Sea to Sky this week, but thankfully crews were able to respond quickly and put out a number of them before they spread further. With conditions getting warmer and drier, it is still really important for everyone to be careful outside right now.
If you are camping, hiking, or spending time outdoors this weekend, double check local fire restrictions and avoid anything that could create sparks or flames πŸ”₯
Have you noticed smoky skies where you are? Or have you already changed your outdoor plans because of fire risk? Let us know below πŸ‘‡

With warmer weather settling into Squamish, bear activity is picking up again around town and on local trails 🐾 It is a good time to refresh on the basics like keeping your distance, securing food and garbage, and staying alert when you are out exploring.
Living and visiting here means sharing space with wildlife, and a little awareness goes a long way in keeping both people and bears safe. Making noise on trails and carrying bear spray in more remote areas can make a real difference.
