Weather conditions at Stony Rapids (the closest weather station to Cree River Lodge). It's actually a fairly mild stretch of weather here in northern Saskatchewan. But don't worry, the temps will warm up for spring fishing season!

First day of winter. Shortest day of sunshine of the year. ONLY 3 MONTHS UNTIL SPRING!! Who's thinking about summertime fishing?

Just a week away from the first day of winter. Cold days and colder nights make for a good time to work through the tackle box and clean up the old lures. How do you know which ones the pike and walleye really like? They are the ones with the paint scratches and the pieces torn off. Need some extras? We have plenty on hand.

We are almost at the official start of winter up here in Northern Saskatchewan but it feels like we well into it. Daytime temps are around -25 and we are down to about 7 hours of sunlight a day. It's a good time to think back to last summer and ahead to next summer when we can take a short boat ride to these beasts.

What's the most acrobatic game fish in Saskatchewan? The Arctic Grayling is well known for it's aerial displays. These feisty "sailfish of the north" are a fantastic fish to target in the river systems around Cree River Lodge. See a few of our happy anglers.
