Big day at The Stratford Hotel!
It is with mixed emotion, but much excitement that George and I announce our decision to retire and take life at a much slower pace.
We would first like to thank all of our dedicated, hardworking team members at The Stratford Hotel. Without them, our business would not have been the success it is today. We would especially like to thank Brenda Nunns who has been our rock over the last 5 years. Brenda cared for this hotel as if it were her own, and we couldn’t have done this without her.
To our valued guests who have supported us over the past 8 seasons: Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We have been told on many occasions that we created a “home away from home” for our guests, and we will definitely miss welcoming all of our friends, many whom have become like-family. Thank you to those who have extended your kind words, well wishes and understanding, beautiful cards, flowers, gifts, retirement t-shirts, mugs, return visits from guests after learning of our retirement, and many other kind gestures. We are also grateful for the many business relationships we have developed over the years within the Stratford area. We wish you all much success going forward.
Lastly, thank you to our landlords for this business opportunity and for their support over the years, especially during the challenges of the pandemic.
We are really looking forward to spending more quality time with our family and friends, who have always supported us through this busy chapter of our lives. They say you know when it’s time, and I think that after 45+ years of work for George and I, the time is now to relax, travel and enjoy our retirement years.
I do believe that you get what you give in life and this adventure has proven to be so much more than a business to us; it’s an opportunity we will always be grateful for.
Now, onto the next chapter! Stay well, everyone.
