What a long weekend.

Our resort was filled with families, groups of friends, and guests making the most of the first unofficial kick-off to summer. From lakeside walks to hot tub evenings and full parking lots, we loved seeing the resort buzzing with energy all weekend long.

Now, as we roll into this short week, it’s Travel Tuesday and we want to shine a light on one of the local spots we always recommend to guests looking for something heartfelt and delicious.

Meet 🌻 Sunflower Ukrainian Cafe Summerland

Just a short drive from the resort, this family-run café is serving handmade Ukrainian comfort food that tastes like it came straight from someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. Homemade pierogies, cabbage rolls, borscht, pastries, cakes and desserts made fresh by a trained Ukrainian pastry chef and his family, who built this dream together after moving to Canada.

Their story is as beautiful as the food itself. Nothing is frozen. Nothing is mass produced. Everything is made by hand with care, tradition, and a whole lot of heart.
