The Quarterdeck Resort is an intimate oceanfront hideaway you dream about but rarely find. Situated on the spectacular white sands of Summerville Beach in Nova Scotia. Our resort is pet friendly and wheelchair accessible. We invite guests to use the QD Rec Center which holds an indoor pool & sauna, fitness room, a lounge and an indoor theater.

offer an on-site licsensed restaurant called The Grill. Here you'll find sumptuous local seafood dishes, handcrafted sandwiches, decadent desserts and full size plates that are sure to satisfy every palate.

Meet Wanda! 👋

Wanda is from Milton and has been part of the Quarterdeck family for quite a while! She originally worked at the old Quarterdeck restaurant for 15 years - which some of you may remember - took a little break for a few years, and then returned to the Grill restaurant — and she’s now been back with us for the last 9 years!

As our morning opener, Wanda does a little bit of everything. You’ll find her prepping, cooking on the line, solving problems, and keeping up with the never-ending task of the hand-cut fries — a job she's become well known for! 🍟

She says her coworkers may describe her as a menace 😂 but on behalf of them all, I will say Wanda makes you laugh, is organized, always willing to put in the hard work, and overall a great team player!

Outside of work, Wanda loves spending time with her grandkids, getting out on her bike, and enjoying the outdoors.

Over the years, Wanda says she has made many longtime friends and met and worked alongside so many awesome people. We’re lucky to have her as part of the team and appreciate all the years of hard work she’s put into The Quarterdeck Resort. She’s one of the few team members who has been here for 10+ years and counting! ❤️

We’re open 9am–9pm!

Meet Heidi! 👋

Heidi is from Liverpool and, after venturing away for a few years, decided to move back and settle down in her hometown. She joined our team in March 2019 as a server at the Grill, and over the years, guests have often recognized her for the wonderful service she provides.

Her favourite cocktail is our Blueberry Lemonade, and when it comes to the menu, it’s the Fish and Chips! If Heidi has ever been your server, you may have heard her claim that our Fish and Chips are the best in all of Canada! She’ll even boast to guests that if they don’t agree, she’ll pay for their meal. 😂

A side chore with Heidi’s name all over it? Washing the windows! During her time with us, she’s also always been willing to lend a hand around the resort, whether that means refreshing the paint in our Beachside Villas or helping clean up around the restaurant.

On her days off, Heidi enjoys spending time with friends and family, crafting, and relaxing.

Thank you, Heidi, for all your hard work, your fun personality and for being part of our Quarterdeck team! ❤️

Meet Broden! 👋

Originally from Halifax, Broden has called the South Shore home for the past five years. He joined The Quarterdeck Resort team in 2022 for Housekeeping before moving into the kitchen in 2023, where he now works as a Dishwasher and Prep Cook.

You’ll usually find him behind the scenes chopping fries, bringing things to the line, unloading local produce and goods, or keeping up with the dishes.

Outside of work, Broden enjoys biking, enjoying nature, and spending time with his friends.

What does he enjoy most about working here? The team and their sense of humour!

His favourite Grill menu dish is the Grilled Halibut with potato gratin. 🐟

We’re lucky to have Broden on our team and appreciate all the hard work he puts in every day, both in the kitchen and behind the scenes!

Exceptional Closure:
We regret to inform our guests that The Grill restaurant will be closed for the day on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Regular summer open hours will follow, 9am - 9pm daily.

🍁 Fall Grill Hours & Menu:
Beginning on the second week of September, the Grill restaurant is changing with the season - new hours and new menu.

Open Grill Hours (Effective September 8th)
Monday to Friday 11am-9pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am-9pm
