On a personal note, thank you so much for sharing this journey with me this far. It feels like a long time ago that this punk version of me was so proud to be guiding my Mom down the river. With a heart full of gratitude for all that has brought me this far, I am looking forward with excitement for what is to come.

For more than 40 years, Hunter Valley Adventures has been a place of connection, laughter, adrenaline, teamwork, and unforgettable days on the Upper Red Deer River.

Generations of guests and guides have shared in the magic of guided whitewater rafting here — and that legacy will always be part of who we are.

As we step into this next chapter, guided rafting will no longer be offered at Hunter Valley Adventures. If you have already booked with us for the 2026 Season, don’t worry. We are honouring all early bookings during this transition.

This decision was made with deep reflection and respect. Our rafting history shaped this place, built this community, and introduced thousands to the power and beauty of the river. We are profoundly grateful for every guest who paddled with us and every guide who led with skill and heart. The river has always been, and will always be, a key part of who we are.

As we wrap up our 2025 season thank you to each and every person who visited us and made it a summer to remember!

Between Guide School, Rafting Trips, Outdoor Ed Weeks, Overnight Guests, Hosting Retreats, and running a Packraft Course at it truly was a summer to remember!

Our first ever Paints and Paddles weekend with was inspiring! The Womyn Wellness Weekend with left us full of gratitude, and the Readers Retreat by motivated us to remeber the beauty in slowing down. Thank you to and for keeping us nourished on these weekends.

Thank you to the guides from for sharing your knowledge and connection to the land with students on our Outdoor Ed weeks. Thank you to for providing the students an opportunity to explore the area on horseback.

A huge thanks to for working with us to provide an awesome launch location for our rafting trips.
