Some of the best parts of staying here aren’t always the obvious ones.

There’s coffee at Sailors’ Rest, games, the playground, and the crab trap down at the wharf that has kept plenty of people busy over the years. Go fishing off the floating dock or take a swim, too.

And yes, we’ve got ice and a few basic camping supplies to help cover the little things during your stay.

Even if you’ve been here before, there’s usually something you haven’t seen yet.

Maybe it’s a different island. A beach you haven’t stopped at. Something you notice from a kayak. Or maybe it’s a few porpoises showing up at exactly the right moment, and everyone suddenly reaching for their phones.

That’s the nice thing about spending time around here. You never quite know what you’re going to see (or what’s going to end up on your camera roll).

There are lots of new things happening around Murphy’s these days, but camping is still a big part of what we do around here.

Set up the tent, get settled in, let the kids find the playground, make supper at the picnic table (or play a few rounds of cards), and get a fire going as the day winds down.

That’s why having a bed inside the dome is kind of nice. You can still hear the outdoors (especially when it rains). It's comforting to lie down and listen to the sound of nature.
