Meet Osa : A true Chilcotin local who was riding before she could walk!

This is Osa’s 3rd year at Chilko Lake Lodge. When she’s not working our horses (usually ba****ck!) or helping around the lodge, she’s teaching theater to youth ages 6–18.

Huge congrats to Osa, who is heading to Guelph this September for Equine Management! We are so proud to have her on the team for another amazing season.

Meet Brian – The Heart Behind Chilko Lake Lodge

For Brian, Chilko Lake Lodge is far more than a destination; it’s home. Long before he became the owner, he was coming to the Chilcotin as a young boy, developing a deep appreciation for the wild beauty, wildlife, and the slower pace of life that makes this place so special. Eight years ago, he fulfilled a dream by purchasing the lodge, with a vision of preserving its spirit and creating a place where family and friends could gather and make lasting memories, alongside his wife Sheila.

For years, the lodge was enjoyed privately with family and close friends. Today, with 7 children and 13 grandchildren, Brian and Sheila hope Chilko Lake Lodge will remain in the family for generations to come. Deeply respectful of the land and its rhythms, they are committed to protecting the Chilcotin’s natural beauty while now opening its doors to guests from around the world.

When Brian is at the lodge, he’s truly the host with the most. You might find him flipping pancakes for the kids in the morning, grilling chicken on the BBQ, his favourite from Granville Island, sharing stories over coffee, or playing a friendly game of tennis on the court. As the day winds down, he’s just as likely to be pouring a dangerously good glass of wine as the light hits the side of the mountain and lights it up on its way down. His warmth and genuine love for the area make everyone feel right at home.

More than just a destination, Chilko Lake Lodge offers authentic hospitality, unforgettable wilderness, and the simple joy of gathering in one of British Columbia’s most remarkable wild places.

For Brian and Sheila, it’s not just a business. It’s a legacy in the making, rooted in family and a lifelong love of the Chilcotin’s.

Shawn is a seasoned culinary professional with over 20 years of experience, specializing in elite backcountry and heli-ski lodges across British Columbia.

Most notably, he has spent over a decade at the renowned Baldface Lodge, creating exceptional wilderness dining experiences. An avid fly fisherman and professional snowboarder, Shawn draws deep inspiration from nature.

His cooking style focuses on sustainability and local, regional ingredients, perfectly blending the beauty of the surrounding wilderness with a top-tier guest experience.

Meet David, Laurel, and Hardy:

David has been living and working in the rugged Chilcotins for 26 years. When the current owners purchased the lodge 8 years ago, David "came with the property" and we couldn't be luckier to have him!

As our year-round caretaker, David is a true man of all trades. From pristine lawn maintenance to housekeeping, kitchen help, and technical upkeep, there is nothing he can’t handle. **He’s even our eye in the sky, regularly operating a drone to capture some truly spectacular footage of the property!
