10years now and we are running out of Tillers for Hannah’s Annual tiller picture!! With 6 of them being here on beautiful Temagami! Crazy her birthday is in January and she’ll be 11! They say time goes by even quicker once you have Kids and it’s so true! We can’t believe this special girl has been rocking the lake life for 10years now! Shes the ⭐️ of the show here at Loon Lodge and every year brings so many special memories and milestones!

Hannah’s tiller picture always marks another season coming to an end, and we hope that everyone out there has a great Thanksgiving weekend 🦃🍂!! Thank you all for another incredible season 🙏 We’ll look forward to welcoming everyone this upcoming winter, when Hannahs switches from the boat to ripping her snowmobile! ❄️🧊🎣

The Best weekend of the year has come and gone too fast once again! Our Annual Schooner Cup 🏆 weekend with our closest friends was another great success! Much in part to Mother nature’s unbelievable weather we had ☀️.

It’s a battle of inches for the cup each year and couldn’t have been a prouder Mom and Dad moment seeing our “not so little” Hannah raise the cup for the first time!! She was so close last year, and all year she looked at the trophy in the lodge saying I’m winning it this year! And She did!!!😊👏. She got a big pike last year, but her goal was to get a big laker this year! The big burp shark 🦈 gave her everything she had but she did it, along with some other great fish against some fierce competition that put her 3/4 of an inch in the lead!!

The Schooner Cup is what brought our little family to this beautiful lake 6years ago and we have been blessed to share this weekend with amazing people ever since! Special shout out to everyone who broke their PBs like Franks 42” laker and big Scotts 38”. Sadly these gorgeous trout were caught the day before and after the tournament but the smiles on their face show it’s not about the tournament, but the pure joys of fishing! Simons 31” walleye was a beauty caught minutes after franks 30”. Brad’s behemoth 40” laker got him the biggest fish of the derby which led to a close battle of inches between him and Hannah on day one. Day two is moving day, Our boat couldn’t get the pike to bite, so Hannah and I for the last hour went fishing for herring 🤪 and her 14”er was just enough to claim the cup despite Don and TJ nipping at her heels! You gotta love fishing!!

Big shout out to Matt from Becca and Matt Rusnell for cooking two delicious dinners for the event to allow our family to spend as much time in the boat as we could together. Win or loose, spending a day fishing with your loved ones is something you can’t put a price on and is the best part of our little derby! We hope everyone we had to say no to understands why we couldn’t run taxis or charters this weekend, but this is the one weekend of the year that our little family gets to share a boat together and enjoy the fruits of our labour 🙏.

It seemed to be the local’s week in the kingfisher these past few days! Ive been looking forward to fishing with all these groups for a while. Mother Nature threw us some tough conditions but despite it all some incredible fish were caught!🎣🏆

It all started off with a chance to share the boat with local legend Ike, his daughter Tina, and son in law Kevin. Ike has worn many hats in our great Temagami community, but my time knowing him was when he was the president of the Temagami Area Fish Involvement Program. I found it quite fitting that his daughter Tina caught her PB of a 31.5” walleye 🤯 with her father in the boat, who very well could have stocked that fish into Temagami years ago! So many laughs and great conversations. Oh yeah, how could I forget, Kevin got the Grand slam😉!! Catching pike, laketrout, walleye and bass all in the same trip! What a blast!

The winds of November came early on our trip with our Chef Matt 👨‍🍳, his wife Becca and his two close friends Neil and Stacy. Nothing crazy huge but Matt showed off his skills outside of the kitchen putting a clinic on the walleye with a side of lake trout! Can’t thank this guy enough for what he did this year in the kitchen. I really wanted him to get a giant but I know this won’t be the last time we’ll share a boat together🤘!

Last but not least Gary and Dianne. I’ve known Gary for a few years now, an anyone who’s fished Bass’n For Kids most likly does too. Gary was involved since day one with the charity and was the auctioneer for years, but last night wasn’t about bass, and the highest bidder was his wife Dianne with a beautiful 31” walleye! We caught some great fish on tricky bite, but these two figured it out which made for a great evening.

It’s been an awesome catch and release season out here on Temagami this September! We are very fortunate to be able to target lakers into this time of year and guests have been taking full advantage of the hot bite that happens during this month! If I had one month to fish out of the whole year it would be September by far 🍂 🍁

From 40+” lakers to giant 30+” walleye, biting in shallow water getting fatter by the day you can’t beat it!! Sadly it’s all going to come to an end soon on September 30th when we can no longer target lakers 🦈 and we’ll just have to make due with the big walleye and my new favourite to target, big old pike 🐊!! White fish also get really fun to target in the fall too so I’ll be dabbling a bit into that bite also!! The best time of year is here and it only gets better from this point on🤘 See you out there!

Don’t know how many more times I can say it but YEAH BABY!!!🤘🏆 31” tanker of an eye 👁️ in between running taxis for insurance companies on this beautiful Temagami afternoon☀️ Got a dozen dandy eyes cruising 15ft of water just crushing the . What an unreal weeks it’s been! So many big walleye, big lakers, big pike and bass 🏈!!! Leave the live bait at home and come find out why September and October are the best months to be alive out here🤘we are full for September but still a couple dates and a bit of cabin availability left in October for anyone wanting to get out 🎣🏆 ’s

One of the most anticipated Saturdays of the whole year has come and gone! The Bass’n for Kids weekend was another great success! Got to spend a justified day off fishing with my good buddies Kenny and Davis from Boatline Bay Marine which was a win regardless where we finished!!

This is a charity “Calcutta” style fishing tournament, so our boat was bid on and sold for $3000. Our boat finished 1st in the #1 flight of boats, and Packard Plumbing bought our boat and donated the 1st place paycheck just shy of $8000 entirely back to charity 👏🙏!!!!

Congrats to Brad Miller and his gang for winning the overall event, and getting their names etched forever in time on the coveted trophy 🏆👏. Can’t wait for next year already! See you in the first flight next year 😉. So many great ppl, and way to many laughs for a top notch event so many folks work incredibly hard on to raise a mind blowing amount of money for a great charity! Hats off gang, you guys put on an incredible event🤘!!!

Until next year I’ll be looking forward to enjoying my silent auction prize from Zachary Zoink Bowen at Top Shelf Catering🐖! Looking forward to fishing with the folks that won our fishing trip donation, I never got the chance to chat with the folks who won so please reach out to set something up🎣!! So many great prizes and great camaraderie within the fishing community, the fishing is really just a bonus to the weekends festivities!!

So sorry, we’ve been so busy the past two weeks I’m behind on posting the August winners for the 2026 Fundraiser Walleye tournament here on the Temagami chain of lakes.

Longest Walleye - Steve Clark - 31.5”
Smallest Walleye - Andy Schonberger - 9.8”
Most Submissions - Andy Schonberger- 24
Hidden length was 21” and Drew Pegrum was the closest with a 22.5”

Congrats to all our August winners!! Now on to September, the next two months will be big months for moving on the leader boards. These next two months will be the best walleye fishing of the season. I’d expect some fish pushing 34” to come across the leader boards before the tournament is done!!

Another day, another dirty 31 3/4”!!🪨🦎!!! 3 PB’s crushed in the boat today on a trip I’ve been looking forward to all year! Happy 65th Al! Laketrout were being funky biting short and the walleye bite was hot and saved the day! Let’s be real though, the trout are fun, but the walleye are the star ⭐️ of the show out here! Such an incredible fishery for multiple species! But when the bite is slow for one species you make lemonade 🍋 and roll with the punches👊!! Bring on September and October🔥🔥!!! The summer is just the warm up when it comes to fishing out here!

On a other note:…… Just a reminder tommorow is the last day for the Snack and Tackle shack 🍔🍟!!! While supplies last! We are running low on everything 🙂, but will have lots of chicken wings for the last wing Monday of the season🐓🍗!! Thanks everyone for the incredible support! This truly has been the best summer to date!! 🙏 ’s

🚨Looking for some input from the fishing community on a wild night we just had out here on Temagami 🎣!!

We had a crazy night out there, Nate had one of the most incredible strikes by a fish I’ve ever seen, fishing in 80ft of water this 37 1/2” laker chased boat side. Just as I was telling Nate, these fish will follow to the boat, you can sometimes figure 8 them like a musky. And sure enough this fish did exactly that 🤯

The craziest part was when we landed the fish the war wounds it had 🤕 which seemed somewhat fresh. My question to the fishing community is what do you think happened to this fish?! Have you seen something like this before? The only thing that makes sense is it hit the prop of my electric motor when it chased boat side. First off the wounds didn’t seem super fresh, and you’d think if a fish got hit by a prop chasing the bait it would turn off? I watched the whole strike and the fish screem drag back to bottom, and assure you once the fish was hooked it didn’t come close to the motor on anchor mode. Maybe this happened a day or two earlier with the fish getting caught then wrapped in a motor under power? You’d just think if it was hit by a prop right away there would be more blood🩸?? Maybe I’m wrong, but this was a first for me.

It doesn’t make a pile of sense, I’ve reached out to my fishing buddies for their thoughts, maybe a giant pike? But you can see on the other photo the other side is clean. A bear? But lakers are deep this time of year… although one friend Bailey Ch*****ne made a good point about maybe a bear with a snorkel 😂🐻🤿!! What are your thoughts???

To top it off when we switched to Walleye 🪨🦎,Nate catches a 30” walleye with scoliosis, and a big chunk of its jaw missing. Although not common, I’ve seen the curved spines before in fish. But to catch two trophy 🏆 fish, with crazy features like this in a 4hr trip, truly make for one of my more memorable evenings I’ve had now in my 20year guiding career. Man I love fishing🤘!!
