A couple of representatives from the John Howard Society are here today at the YWCA Thompson, to assist people if they have any questions. Come down they will be here until 5pm.

What is a pardon? A pardon, also known as a record suspension, is a legal process in Canada that seals a person's criminal record, effectively removing it from the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database. This means that the criminal record will not appear on a standard background check, making it easier for individuals with a criminal past to reintegrate into society. Pardons are granted by the Parole Board of Canada (PBC), an independent administrative tribunal responsible for making decisions related to pardons, parole, and clemency.
