The best part about owning a camp isn't just the fishing or the sunsets.
It's watching guests become friends... and friends become family.
My girls don't even call them "camp guests." To them, they're just family.
There's something pretty special about a place where kids grow up together, traditions are passed down, and every spring feels like a family reunion.
That's what Big Bear Camp has always been to us. ❤️ ❤️

One of the reasons this camp means so much to us? Watching generations make the same memories.
See that dad walking down the dock with his little one? We watched him make that very same walk years ago... beside his own dad and grandpa.
Yep. He's been coming here that long.
Places are beautiful. Fishing is fun. But it's the traditions that make a camp feel like home.
And getting a front-row seat to watch those memories be passed down? That's the best catch of all. ❤️ ❤️ 🎣

5 things I'd do if you want your kids to actually LOVE fishing...
1️⃣ Snacks. Then pack more snacks... and maybe a secret stash of emergency snacks.
2️⃣ Boat toys! We keep a bin of floating toys and random treasures just for fishing days.
3️⃣ Did I mention snacks? Trust me, you still don't have enough.
4️⃣ No shame in the iPad game. Download a movie, a few shows, or games before you head out. Sometimes all they need is a little break before they're ready to fish again.
5️⃣ Quit while you're ahead. If they're done, they're done. Head back before fishing feels like a chore. The goal isn't to force them to stay—it's to make sure they can't wait to come back.
Fishing isn't about catching the biggest fish every time. It's about making memories that keep them asking, "When can we go again?"
