Chesterman Cabin A nice cozy place at the edge of the earth. In the winter two tall wood burning fireplaces cast heat throughout the house.

On warm summer days the glass doors surrounding the kitchen & living space slide open and fresh ocean air runs through the house. A backyard boardwalk leads from the home to a cedar barrel hot tub nestled in the middle of the woods, within earshot of the waves breaking on the beach. A short, winding rainforest trail connects the cabin to some of Tofino’s best surf at Chesterman’s Beach.

Just over a year in and the cabin is starting to settle into its surroundings. The cedar shakes and boardwalks are now silver. The salal and ferns are popping up. Now that some of the alder cannopy has been exposed the cedars and hemlocks are shooting up the to sun. It does not take long for the rainforest to return in Tofino.
