It's been forever since I've posted anything or updated my page. It has been a whirl wind since August, as I took some time off when my mom came to visit from out west, which was great. I also had some unexpected days off while my wife and I and her family were going through some hard times dealing with the health of my father in law, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in mid November. I was still working down in cole Harbour at the building I had started in mid spring. This was the first time I was acting as a general contractor throughout the process..needles to say it was a little challenging getting everything to line up with other contractors and getting things done at certain times. But in the end everything came together and I am so happy to say I completed the job today (aside from poping back down sometime to put a couple ceiling tiles up and a bit of insulation, there had been a small leak from roof that started when we had a really bad storm come through). I may also be helping assemble new furniture once it has been ordered. I am so excited with the transformation this building has underwent, very pleased with the outcome.

Ahh yes this makes perfect sense now. Haha

Can't even begin to imagine what these families are going through

We feel for many today..it is mixed with a feeling of sadness, gratitude and almost relief. Relief that the family of Terry-Lynn Keddy will have some semblance of approaching closure. Gratitude for all the First Responders from near and far, who dropped everything in their lives to help look for her and the others for over a week. Found almost 100 kilometers from her last known location, with a likelihood of her being found in the 5% to 7% range. Searcher remorse is a real thing..."could we have looked at another location and found her", "did we go deep enough" ... will always be engrained in the minds of many if the remaining person was never found. Sadness for the man who was looking for his dog in Advocate Harbour area and located Terry-Lynn. This will no doubt be with him for the rest of their life and I hope he understands that this discovery, a sad and upsetting moment, will be so meaningful to so many people and that we are ever so grateful that he was there at that place and time. Thinking of all involved and reflecting on the past 9 days as I walked similar shores today, with my dog, not far from Advocate Harbour today near Parrsboro.

May they all now, be laid to rest:
Natalie Harnish, 6
Colton Sisco, 6
Terry-Lynn Keddy, 14
Nicholas Holland, 52

Still working away on my project down in cole Harbour, it's slowly coming along, getting more and more done each week. Since the last post, I've been working on floor leveling, took out all old wall A/C units and framed in, insulated and gyrocked. Patched gyrock in majority of cut outs in walls, started a little in bathroom, including all new plumbing and toilet as well as vanity and started new flooring under those.

Made some more progress today, started out by making mulitple trips to the dumpster with all the debree, but quickly filled dumpster, so now have to wait until it's emptied tomorrow to continue. So I started tearing down some more walls, I didn't get to far, before I ran into something I've never come across before, this room was once used as a cash in/ cash out safety deposit room, a long time ago (VLT). So behind all the drywall was a quarter of an inch steel plate, which the drywall was Glued to with heavy duty construction adhesive, had quite the work out to get all that removed. There was also bullet proof glass windows, which were fun to get out haha. But with some perseverance, and a little persuasion lol the walls came down. This space is starting to come together, love how much bigger it looks allready.

Was a last minute change to my work plans, but started building this deck for a client last week, just have the railings to finish (weather permitting). The old deck was in very bad condition and needed an overhaul, it was 26 by 4 feet, but they decided to extend the majority of it out to 8 feet. I Was also back down in enfeild where I had previously pressure washed some decks, and they now needed to be finished, so I stained one clients deck, and water sealed another's, aswell as a few odds and ends around her yard.
Starting next week, and on and off for the next several months, I will be finially getting to start my next project down in cole Harbour, excited to start that one.

Gotta love when your in the middle of a project for a first time client, and they come out and hand you a very detailed To Do list of projects they would like you to now do over a time span of roughly 2 years...love it, guess that means they are happy with my work so far haha.
