It is with heavy hearts that we share that July 26th was the final Twillingate Island Farmers Market of the season.

We’re so grateful to every vendor who’s been part of the TIFM family, even if it was just for one market over the past three years. It’s been a privilege to build a local farm network and work alongside so many incredible growers to bring fresh produce to the community each Saturday. We’re equally thankful to every visitor who walked through our doors. This has been a special entrepreneurial journey, and we’re proud to have made a positive impact on Twillingate and the surrounding communities. What began as a dream to fill a gap in access to quality produce became a reality because of the support we received from day one.

This year has been the most challenging of our three seasons. We’ve seen lower foot traffic, more vendor cancellations, and factors outside our control. Even with fresh, locally sourced produce and smaller orders than in past years, we’ve had more waste than ever before. We believe this reflects the current economy and shifting priorities. It’s no one’s fault, just the reality we’ve encountered this season.

Thank you for being part of this journey. While this moment is bittersweet, we’re proud of what we’ve built and deeply appreciate your continued support as we take this next step.

On a happier note, showcased in this post are the awesome vendors who joined us last Saturday. Supporting other local entrepreneurs, artists, makers, bakers, and growers has ultimately become our favourite outcome of this adventure.

📣 THIS WEEK’S MARKET IS CANCELLED 📣

We’re sad to share that there will be no Twillingate Island Farmers Market this Saturday, July 19th. It’s been a challenging year. Turnout has been low, vendor cancellations are up from past seasons, and ongoing road work outside the building has made access more difficult. As a result, many vendors have had to make tough calls, including cancelling this weekend. Without vendors, the market simply can’t happen.

This is a reminder that your support matters more than ever. Every visit, purchase, and shared post helps keep this market alive. We’re taking this weekend to regroup and hope to be back soon with better news and a strong vendor lineup. In the meantime, please keep supporting the incredible makers and growers in our community however you can.

Thank you for standing by us over these past few years. We’ve appreciated you more than you know. 💚
