Words and pictures can’t do justice to the incredible experience we had at the Terroir Symposium in Calgary, celebrating their 20th Anniversary and ‘The Joy of Food’.

It was an absolute honour to be invited to speak at the symposium and to collaborate on a dinner with the talented team at River Café and the ‘Chef de Farm’ Shane Harper of Restaurant Pearl Morissette.

It was a magical 5 days spent celebrating food and the community that surrounds it. We met the most wonderful people, learnt lots, were SO well taken care of, had so much fun, and left feeling inspired.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, particularly to and the team for inviting and hosting us, to for creating and continuing to pour her heart into the for 20 years, to for making it all happen, to Shane Harper .produce for being our partner in crime all weekend (and the team for releasing him from his farming duties to attend), and to our new and old friends for the company and the laughs!

Local Chinook Salmon, Crispy Salmon Dumplings, Preserved Peach Nam Chim, Salt Spring Island Lime Leaf, House Cured Salmon Caviar.

A taste of the tropics using only BC ingredients! Nam Chim is a dipping sauce originating from Thailand. Ours is made with last year’s preserved Okanagan peaches, homemade herring Garum, and Salt Island lime leaf oil.

Our Spring menus are always short and sweet, changing as quickly as the Spring weather! This dish arrived late April and will be gone before the end of May.

The awards are nice, but this is what it’s really all about!

Thank you to all of our guests, and particularly to the ones who take the time to share their kind words with us and our team.

Whether it’s a hand written note, a card received in the mail, an email, an online review, or a conversation over dinner, we really appreciate it!

And thanks to our team who put so much care and energy into making sure our guests feel taken care of.

Thank you to everyone involved in Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants for including our little restaurant again this year!

We’re honoured to be on this list of exceptional restaurants, and to be the only restaurant representing Vancouver Island.

We’re not easy to get to, so a huge thank you to the judges who make the effort to visit remote restaurants. We might not know who you are, but we appreciate you!

With Spring, comes endless opportunity to extend the menu!

Right now, we have this little cutie available to add as a tasty snack to start your meal.

Octopus Tostada
Heirloom Corn Tortilla, Refried Beans, Hazelnut Salsa Matcha, Nova Scotia Saffron Aioli, Local Octopus.

These little octopus are a bycatch from our local spot prawn fishery. They are small, delicious, and ultra tender.

This dish is available for a few more days only, but there’s always something exciting at this time of year!

Nothing says 'I love you' like a perfectly planned mini-break on the West Coast!

If you want to show someone you care this Valentine's Day or Family Day, we think this is the perfect way to do it.

Book a stay and dinner with us, reserve your ferry or flight, get some snacks and a good playlist for the drive, and surprise your favourite person.

We have lots of availability (and some great rates and promotions) throughout February and March.

For a last minute getaway this weekend, we have a two night stay available Friday 13th and Saturday 14th, with dinner in the restaurant on Friday.

As cheesy as it may sound, the best gift we can give each other is some quality time together. Fresh ocean air, quiet walks in the rainforest, a cozy room, and a delicious dinner are a nice bonus to that!
