Attention Campers:
The campfire ban within the District of Lillooet boundaries has been reinstated as of Noon Friday July 7, 2023.
Kamloops Fire Centre (which the Lillooet area falls under) has also reinstated their fire ban- see the attached map of the boundaries.

June 23, 2023 update:
We are now accepting reservations for tent sites & non self-contained RVs. The washroom and shower upgrade is mostly complete and the washroom building is open as of today.
A reminder that showers are $5.00 if you are not a campground guest- please pay the facility attendant or use the self-serve drop box for payment.

Due to weather conditions and the reduced wildfire danger risk, effective at 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday June 23, 2023 the District of Lillooet will be rescinding the Campfire Prohibition within its jurisdictional boundaries.

Category 2 and Category 3 open burning will remain prohibited until October 15, 2023 or until this prohibition is rescinded. In addition, fireworks (including firecrackers), sky lanterns, burning barrels or burn cages of any size or description, binary exploding targets, Air curtain burners, Tiki torches (and similar kinds of torches), and chimineas are prohibited.

We are open May 18-October 10, 2023 and are now accepting reservations for serviced (RV) sites.
Rates:
$55.00/night full hookup sites
$35.00/night non-serviced/tent sites.
$10.00 sani dump only (included with full-service sites)
$5.00 shower only (included for campground guests)

Update: As of June 23, 2023 our washroom and shower facility upgrade is nearly complete. The main washroom and shower facilities are open for use.
A reminder that showers are $5.00 for non-guests, please pay the facility attendant or use the self-service drop box to pay.

EVACUATION ORDER for Electoral Area B – Downton Creek Area

Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the BC Emergency Program Act an Evacuation Order has been issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District due to immediate danger to life safety caused by a wildfire in the vicinity of Downton Creek, in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

Members of the Lillooet Detachment – Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other applicable agencies will be expediting this action.

The Evacuation Order is in effect for all addresses in the following area:

• District Lot 2343, Lillooet District
• District Lot 4361, Lillooet District
• District Lot 4361- Lot A, Lillooet District
• Lot 1 and Lot 2 in District Lot 4360, Lillooet District
• Cottonwood Recreation Site EC1576
• Cinnamon Recreation Site REC1874
• Gott Recreation Site REC1872
• Rogers Recreation Site REC1568
• Seton Ridge Recreation Trail REC4684
• All other properties as outlined on the attached map in this notice: https://www.slrd.bc.ca/downtoncreek

YOU MUST LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

• Evacuate south toward Lillooet or Pemberton.
• If emergency accommodations are required, register for Emergency Support Services at: The Canadian Red Cross 24/7 Disaster Assistance Line 1-888-800-6493
• If you need transportation assistance from the area, advise the person providing this notice or call (604) 356 3082.
• Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.
• Close all windows and doors.
• Close gates (latch) but do not lock.
• Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation. Do not use more vehicles than you have to.
• Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
• Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service.

The risk of wildfires is increasing. As of Thursday, August 4 at noon, campfires are banned in the south of BC. That includes the following:
• Coastal Fire Centre (except Haida Gwaii)
• Southeast Fire Centre
• Kamloops Fire Centre
