This historic building has been entirely renovated and is furnished with luxurious antiques. Hello and welcome! My name is Brigitte and I am your host at the Inn. When COVID shut down my bakery/cafe a couple of years ago, we were left with a fabulous building to reinvent a future for. Now I no longer could go back to running a bakery as I am now entirely dedicated to running my nearby organic farm
. Back in the day while running the bakery, we would often welcome out-of-towners that had one resounding complaint: a lack of lodging. So Grace your wonderful Innkeeper ( incidentally, we worked together at the cafe) and I came up with the Inn. Grace LOVES to host and she lives in the village, so it was the perfect idea. We decided that we would provide visitors with a unique and fabulous place to rest and relax right in the heart of town. We spent months searching for beautiful treasures and furniture to perfect the vision. Chandeliers, antiques, paintings- we truly aim to make this an experience to remember. We offer rooms or full apartment for rent at the Inn with the added benefit of ordering local foods from our very own farm, meals to prepare on site, flowers, fresh baked goods and even extra cleaning services during your stay. We sincerely want to make your stay a memorable one. We are listed on VRBO for the full apartment rental but also on Airbnb for single rooms. You can contact me directly if we have had you as a guest before or if you are being referred to us by a common friend. We wish to thank the following people for their contributions to making The Matte Boutique Inn a absolute gem:
Jim Mullin for Logo design; Tara Kirkpatrick for various donations; Katie McCall and family for their donation of antique chairs; and a slew of different people including Jacques, Val and the kids. It takes a village folks.
