Great farm visits last week for the Ayrshire Canada Annual Meeting, including at Ferme J.M. Roy & Fils Inc, a modern well managed operation, 165 cows making 215 kgs quota. Nostalgia: I met Jean-Marie Roy 50 years ago at The Royal 1975. He was very excited, celebrating his Royal Grand Champion Ayrshire win with Roi Adrien Galante. I also met the 1975 Ayrshire princess, 19 year old Diane Mode, at that show, and did some translation between Jean-Marie and Diane.
The dam of promising Semex young sire Roi Magellan Maverick at Semex, Roi Halogen Lois (Ex) was on display at the farm visit, her pedigree goes back to 9th dam Roi Mr B Hermine (Ex) and 11th dam Roy Adrien Princess (Ex-92) one of the Ex Chacook Royal Adrien 2 daughters in this 1976 ad.
