We are very excited to welcome Ken Mackenzie back to Hotel Grand Pacific as our Artist in Residence for August.

Ken is a Victoria-based contemporary realist pastel painter of land, sea, and cityscapes.

Ken’s primary source of inspiration for his diverse subject matter is generated from his travels to 35 countries, 23 of which he travelled by motorcycle. Ken strives to illuminate a unique perspective in his painting that may go unnoticed by the casual observer.

He often takes on custom projects, which may include a variety of subjects, including vehicles land and cityscapes.

Design and creativity have been central to most of Ken’s life. He was born in Toronto and attended a Commercial Arts program where he consistently achieved top marks, otherwise he is self-taught. Ken’s work hangs in a number of private residences in Canada, Israel and Germany. Ken has lived in Western Canada for many years and has called Victoria home since 2010.

If you are very lucky you might even see him in actio! He will be on site every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00.
