The Canadian Open Welcome BBQ is scheduled for July 7 from 4-6. Weather will be awesome. 100% chance of sun and temperature around 25 C (80 F). New location - Laurel Point Park On the oceanfront. Spectacular views of the inner harbour. Lots of chess and great food. See you there.

There will be a welcome BBQ for Canadian Open players, families, friends and fans. The BBQ will take place at Laurel Point Park (a short walk from the Hotel Grand Pacific. Beef burgers, Vegetarian burgers and hotdogs can be pre-ordered for $10 adults and $5 children

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors there will be door prizes every round starting round 2. Winners must be in the tournament hall to win a door prize. Prizes range from gift certificates to shirts. Make sure you show up at least 5 minutes before each round. Round 1 Opening Ceremony starts 10:50am this Sunday.
