🔧 WE’RE HIRING – PROPERTY MAINTENANCE & GENERAL LABOURER
Dicks’ is looking for a dependable, hard-working person to join our team in a Property Maintenance & General Labour position.
This is definitely not your typical restaurant job! We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, and likes having variety in their workday.
Our building is home to a busy restaurant, bar and accommodations, which means there is always something that needs to be cleaned, maintained, repaired, moved, prepared or taken care of.
Duties may include:
• General building maintenance and minor repairs
• Basic carpentry, plumbing and other small repair jobs
• Painting and property upkeep
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, including fryers
• Mopping and general cleaning throughout the building
• Peeling and preparing large quantities of potatoes using commercial equipment
• Receiving, moving and putting away supplies and deliveries
• Garbage and recycling
• Pressure washing and deep cleaning
• Lawn and outdoor property maintenance
• Snow clearing and seasonal maintenance
• Moving furniture, equipment and supplies
• Preventative maintenance and identifying things that need attention
• Other general labour and maintenance duties as needed
In other words — no two days will necessarily look the same!
We’re especially looking for someone who can see what needs to be done and take the initiative to do it. This position requires someone who can work independently without needing to be given their next task every step of the way.
Hours & Availability:
October–April: Part-time
May–September: Full-time
This is a year-round position. Weekend availability is required, with occasional evening work as needed. Flexibility in scheduling will be important, particularly during our busy summer season.
The ideal person will be:
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable working independently
• Physically capable of lifting, carrying and repetitive physical work
• Comfortable using basic tools and equipment
• Willing to do both maintenance AND cleaning work
• Able to prioritize tasks and take initiative
• Flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed
• Someone who takes pride in keeping a property clean, maintained and running smoothly
• In possession of a valid driver’s licence
Previous experience in maintenance, construction, janitorial work, general labour or a similar hands-on role would be an asset.

Please note: This is a regular payroll position. All hours worked and earnings are processed through payroll with applicable statutory deductions and employment records provided.
