September was a pretty amazing month.

Breaking Trail turned one, and I had the opportunity to connect with readers at three author events, sit down with Rosie Edeh on CTV Morning Live, and join an incredible panel at the University of Toronto for a conversation on innovation in policing and social justice.

Feeling grateful for this journey, for the people who continue to support it, and for every opportunity to turn lived experience into something meaningful.

Here’s to another chapter. 📚✨

🌟 Welcome Our New Community Development Manager! 🌟

Fishing Lake First Nation is pleased to welcome Pierrette Woynarski, who began her role as Community Development Manager on September 28, 2026!

Pierrette will support members through our Community Development programs and work with staff and Urban Representatives to coordinate services and community activities.

Kimberly Kayseas has moved into the Revenue Account Coordinator position with the Waywaynih Kunawapunteeing Trust and will continue supporting Pierrette with training during the transition.

Members and Urban Representatives are asked to direct Community Development questions to Pierrette. Please be patient as she settles into her new role and becomes familiar with our programs, policies, and procedures. Some questions may require additional review before she can provide an answer.

📍 We moved offices last week and are waiting for SaskTel to set up our office phone. WKT and Community Development are now located in Office 302.

📱 In the meantime, please call or text the Community Development work cell at 1-639-947-7261.
