🌟 Spotlight Saturday – Local Business Feature: 91.3 FM Bluewater Radio

This week, we’re shining a light on a true local staple: 91.3 FM Bluewater Radio, located right here in Walkerton.

First launched on December 31, 2001, Bluewater Radio has spent the past 25 years serving the Grey‑Bruce community with a strong focus on being live, local, and connected.

The station offers a great mix of Pop, Oldies, and Country music, along with local news, weather, and community updates, helping keep listeners informed and in tune with what’s happening around the area.

What makes Bluewater Radio truly unique is its open‑door, community‑first approach. It’s one of the few stations where you can still call in with a request or even stop by in person, making it a truly interactive and accessible experience for listeners.

While it sounds like a large commercial station, Bluewater Radio is proudly volunteer‑driven, supported by a dedicated team and a full‑time station manager. This is a direct reflection of the strong community involvement that makes Brockton so special.

With its welcoming atmosphere, local focus, and commitment to keeping the community connected, Bluewater Radio continues to play an important role in daily life across Grey‑Bruce.

💛 Thank you to the team at 91.3 FM Bluewater Radio for everything you do to keep our community informed, entertained, and connected.

🌟 Spotlight Saturday – Local Business Feature: The Cook’s Cupboard

This week, we’re shining a light on a local favorite for food lovers and home chefs: The Cook's Cupboard in Walkerton.

The Cook’s Cupboard is proudly owned by Fulford’s, a family‑run business that has been serving Grey‑Bruce since 1944. Building on decades of experience, The Cook’s Cupboard was created as its own unique destination for cookware, gourmet foods, kitchen essentials, and gifts.

Since launching, it has grown to include five locations across Grey‑Bruce, including Owen Sound, Port Elgin, Meaford, Southampton, with Walkerton proudly serving as one of those locations, bringing quality products and culinary inspiration to communities throughout the region.

Often described as part kitchen store, part foodie playground, and part local gathering place, The Cook’s Cupboard offers everything from quality cookware and bakeware to local treats and specialty ingredients. Whether you're an experienced cook or just getting started, the team provides friendly, knowledgeable service and plenty of inspiration.

What makes it truly special is the experience: a place where you can discover something new, get inspired, and find your next favorite kitchen item every time you visit.

The Cook’s Cupboard reflects Brockton’s strong community spirit - where connection, creativity, and supporting local all come together.

💛 Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our community.

🌟 Spotlight Saturday – Local Feature: Victoria Jubilee Hall

This week, we’re shining a light on one of Walkerton’s most iconic gathering places - Victoria Jubilee Hall, Walkerton, Ontario.

Built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, the Hall has been at the heart of the community for over 125 years, serving many roles throughout its history: from a farmer’s market and fire hall to council chambers and a vibrant arts venue.

Today, Victoria Jubilee Hall is a true hub for arts and culture, offering live music, theatre, and community events, and serving as the home of the local County Towne Players. Its historic Opera Hall seats up to 300 guests and is known for its exceptional acoustics and unique character.

One of the building’s most distinctive features is its bell tower and cupola, with a bell dating back to the late 1800s that still rings out across town... A reminder of the Hall’s deep roots in the community.

A fun and important part of its story: the Hall was nearly demolished in 1997, but thanks to a passionate group of local volunteers, it was saved! To this day, it continues to be supported and operated by a dedicated volunteer team.

✨Coming up, don’t miss the “Abbey Rd” concert next Saturday June 20th at 7:00 PM, presented by Sacred Heart High School.

Victoria Jubilee Hall is more than just a venue. It’s a place where history, arts, and community come together, and where everyone feels welcome.
