BREAKING NEWS: Wasaga Beach Welcomes $20,000 in Provincial Funding to Grow Mayor’s Charity RAM Rodeo and Hootenanny Fall Festival - Experience Ontario funding will support expanded family attractions, strengthen fall tourism, and enhance visitor experiences

🏇🎡💃☀️🐎

The Town of Wasaga Beach is welcoming a $20,000 investment from the Province of Ontario through Experience Ontario to support local tourism, drive economic activity, and expand one of the community’s most anticipated fall events.

Returning October 3–4, 2026, at Klondike Sports Park, the Mayor’s Charity RAM Rodeo and Hootenanny Fall Festival has quickly become a major regional attraction, drawing thousands of attendees from across Ontario for a weekend of live entertainment, professional rodeo action, family activities, artisan vendors, food trucks, and fall-themed programming.

“We are grateful to Minister Cho and the Province of Ontario for recognizing the impact that festivals and events have on communities like Wasaga Beach,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “The Mayor’s Charity RAM Rodeo and Hootenanny Fall Festival has quickly become one of the Town’s signature events, attracting visitors from across Ontario while supporting local businesses and community organizations. This funding will help us deliver an even better rodeo and festival experience for local families and visitors, including a Ferris wheel, more seating, more food choices, more washrooms, shared areas, and a 2-Step Social Under the Stars that you will never forget.”

The provincial funding will support expanded family programming, new midway attractions, upgraded accessibility features, and enhanced visitor amenities as the Town continues to grow the event and strengthen fall tourism activity in the community.

Tickets for the 2026 Mayor’s Charity RAM Rodeo are available now at wasagabeach.com/Rodeo

🍁BREAKING NEWS: Wasaga Beach Invites Ontarians to Celebrate Canada Day Where Canada’s Origin Story Meets the World’s Longest Freshwater Beach - Historic Nancy Island, World Cup watch parties and a beachfront symphony fireworks show bring Canadian history, culture and celebration together on the shores of Georgian Bay

This Canada Day, the Town of Wasaga Beach is inviting residents and visitors from across Ontario to celebrate Canada in a place where part of the nation’s story was written.

“Long before Wasaga Beach became one of Canada’s most visited summer destinations, it was the site of a pivotal battle during the War of 1812, where the defence of Upper Canada by the crew of the HMS Nancy, under the command of Lieutenant Worsley, helped shape the borders of Canada as we know them,” explains Mayor Brian Smith.

On July 1, visitors are invited to honour that history on the shores of the world’s longest freshwater beach through a new partnership that connects one of Ontario’s most visited beachfronts with one of Canada’s most significant historic sites. Hosted by the Town of Wasaga Beach in partnership with the nationally significant Nancy Island Historic Site, the celebration will bring together Canadian history, World Cup soccer, and the only Canada Day Symphony Fireworks Show on Georgian Bay, featuring some of Canada’s most iconic artists over the decades, from the 1980s to the 2020s.

“Canada Day is an opportunity to celebrate our country, our community, and the experiences that bring us together,” says Mayor Brian Smith. “Wasaga Beach is the only place in Ontario where families can immerse themselves in a pivotal chapter of Canadian history, soak up the sun and waves on the world’s longest freshwater beach, gather to watch the World Cup, and end the night with a spectacular symphony fireworks show over Georgian Bay. This year’s celebration brings together everything people love about Wasaga Beach and everything we love about being Canadian.”

😮 Could a Gondola, Zipline or Sky-High Lookout Be Coming to Wasaga Beach? Town launches RFEOI for potential signature aerial attractions as part of Destination Wasaga

⛱️ One of the GTA’s favourite summer road-trip destinations is exploring new attractions that could give visitors a whole new way to experience Wasaga Beach — from above. Mayor Brian Smith and the Council of Wasaga Beach have approved the release of a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) inviting qualified proponents to bring forward ideas for potential signature aerial attractions as part of the Town’s Destination Wasaga Master Plan.

“This is the kind of idea that gets people talking,” said Mayor Brian Smith. “A signature aerial attraction could give visitors another reason to choose Wasaga Beach for a day trip, weekend getaway or family vacation, while supporting local businesses and strengthening the year-round tourism economy.”

Potential concepts could include a gondola or cable system, zipline, aerial park, elevated walkway, canopy experience, observation structure or another innovative aerial experience.

Interested vendors can review the full Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) and submit applications through the Town’s Bids and Tenders platform: wasagabeach.bidsandtenders.ca
