Big update for Clear Lake this summer 🚤
After two seasons without motorized boats, Parks Canada has announced that boating will return for 2026.
The goal hasn’t changed though. Zebra mussels are still present, and while they can’t be eliminated, new measures are being introduced to help manage their impact and protect the lake long-term.
Here’s what that looks like:
• Mandatory boat tagging
• Expanded no-wake zones
• Two non-motorized days each week
• Quiet morning and evening periods
• Continued inspections and clean, drain, dry protocols
It’s a shift toward balance. Bringing boating back, while still protecting the ecosystem that makes Clear Lake what it is.
For cottage owners, visitors, and local businesses, this is a big change heading into summer.
Curious to hear where you land on this.
Are you excited to see boats back on the lake?
Also! Big news! The federal government has once again waived park entry fees for all national parks starting in June, making it even easier to plan a visit this summer.
